Bridle flying

Are Npw's the only kites you can fly right off the bridle? Has anyone tried with anything else? What do you think the advantages and dis-advantages are in your opinion? Thanks.:puzzled:

I tried my 8 in like 30 mph and the window was unusably small. I never flew my NPW. Only advantage is it adds alot to the top windspeed of the kite.
