frame kites
I'm wanting to try something different from foils and LEI kites. I used to have a C-Quad but hated packing it up.
I was looking at these kites and was wondering if they might have enough power to pull an ATB.

They aren't going to provide huge lift like a Blade or speed like a JoJo but it would be cool to cruise the beach with something like this. Has
anyone seen a kiteski rig up for sale anywhere?
I also used to have one of the Corey Roseler Kiteski rigs but it had broken spars.

Are you wanting a kite with that delta profile? I know the Revolution Power Blasts can make power up there with some foils, but they definitely don't
have the stunt-kite-on-steroids look of the Kiteski or the Apollo that Eli linked.

Do you have a link to a Revolution Power Blast? I've not had a Rev for about 8 years now. They are not my favorite looking kite...probably why I
gave mine away back in 1999 or 2000.
I would like to have a delta type kite with a good bit of power for ATB cruising with something different.

Wind of Change carries them, they have the 2-4 (supposedly a 2m with equivalent power of a 4m foil) and the 4-8 (4m with power like an 8m foil). As
an inland flyer, I'm really considering one of these. However, I don't find my C-quad that convenient (I used to have a 6.3m as well). So it's down
to this or a Blade IV.

Actually, poking through Wind of Change's online catalog, they do have a number of giant delta-style stunt-kites.

I have a Rev Supersonic. It was my first 4-line kite, after starting out with several 2-line deltas. Crashed that thing time after time until it
just clicked. Amazingly, never broke a spar. It is the fastest, most maneuverable kite I've flown. Fly it in in reverse full speed down and reverse
it inches from the ground. Fly it sideways, pinwheel it, hover anywhere in the window, no sweat.
Man, I want to try a Powerblast 2-4 and 4-8.
Speleo, I don't like the look of the Rev 1 and 1.5 much, but the Shockwave/Supersonic and Powerblasts are beautiful.

Here is a photo of both the 24 and the 48 to give you an idea in the size between the 2
be nice if rev had some kind of link line attachment for harnesses coming off the handles

I have both a 2-4 and 4-8, they fly beautifully and have every once of power that they claim. They cut up wind better than any other kite on the
market, because they have less wind resistance due to their single skin and minimal rigging. I've successfully harnessed my 2-4 & 4-8, but its a
lot trickier than a foil and you loose feedback that is critical if you want to fly it to full effect.
One thing about bugging with a Rev, you really have to fly the kite, not like a foil that you just steer and hold on. Its a lot harder than a foil,
but I think more fun.
A big delta will pull you crosswise down wind, but you'll have a hard time making your way upwind, this could be very chalanging on a beach.

The Rev looks like it might be a blast to try. Anyone wanna share?
I prefer kites that I have to actually fly and being harnesses in is a must for me.
I may have to find a bigger C-quad to try again with.
Thanks for all the info.

I have both the 2-4 and the 4-8 if anyone is interested in giving them a go. They are awesome on the buggy. I will be at NABX, just look me up on
the south end of buggytown.
Joe & Ben from Revolution will be there this year as well. You will probably see Joe ripping around the lake bed on his Revolution....try and
catch him if you can He is also very eager to let anyone give his kite a go on
the buggy.
As said, they cut upwind as good or better than any foil kite on the market and are super fast. The depower in them are awesome as well. The 4-8
will rip your arms out of their sockets in sub 10mph winds. You can buggy with it in 3-4 mph winds on the playa.

Kent -
Do the Powerblast 2-4 and 4-8 use larger diameter or beefier leading edge spars than the Shockwave/Supersonic? Or are do they use the same section
with close enough bridle spacing to keep the bending loads down?

No I won't be a NABX. To far to travel for me.
The Rev looks promising as an alternative to foils on occasion.
I don't like NASA wings. I had one years ago and never got it flying right.
