Girls who kite
I don't think there are any on this board, or are there?
Well, I wonder is it possible to find a girlfriend who is into kite. Or at least can get into it and would at least enjoy flying it.
I am in relationship right now in which we both are way to different, and its going no-where, so I am thinking of looking for a girl similar to me,
and why not look for a girl who likes kites.
your thoughts guys!

I am a girl, but I'm taken :P - (there are a few others on this forum too)
I know a few other kiter gals so they do exist... Best bet find a girl who likes the outdoors and teach her to kite.

I'm hoping to get my wife into it - she seems interested - she's gone out with me both times, but the wind hasn't been good enough to hand the kite
over.

Yeah archkiter I think finding the girl who likes outdoors is the best bet, I just realized that for relationship to last there must be at least
something in common to which it is always possible to fall back

I've been married for 5 yrs. and been kiting for a year and a half. My wife shows no interest at all, and yet there's nothing else that we go out and
do together. She won't even frisbee golf with me. Her lack of interest in the things I do has really made me lose interest in her for the most part.
Don't mean to seem harsh but the only thing we have in common is our children.
You only live once! And like you, I too want someone who share some of my enthusiasm. so I guess that makes two of us.Kite chicks are cool!

we're getting populated with Girl Buggiers right now. if you cant find someone, come visit us in Vancouver, Canada. ROFL.
I'm happy to say that most of my past girlfriends, all showed an interest in kitebuggying or kitesurfing. If I were still single, my first two
questions are always.
Do you like the outdoors?
Have to kited before? If not, are you willing to give it a shot?
Best pickup line... Do you kite? No, well we should get together on the weekend so I can show you how.

I knew finding a girl who kites would be impossible, so I found myself a lovely lady who isn't a bum (such as my ex.) and is willing to come try it
out...granted this means I have to go on runs with her, and I'm no runner. I get bored..not technical enough!
Took my friends girl out the other day as she is super excited to learn. She was shocked when I flew over top of her with my Speed..which was
accidental but she doesn't have to know that...and now shes picking up a kite, and getting lessons as soon as the water warms up! Shes a sponsored
surfer, so shes pretty hyped up.
Girls that kite are tough to find, but girls who will kite are every where!

My wife loves to kite . One day she had my rage 2.5 out ,the next thing I know she 's in the buggy goin down the beach! I havn't taught her how to
turn, stop , or nothin' so I had to run after her before she got to the end of beach. She's hooked now, but she's scared of the speed I do with the
4.7 in a 20-25 east blow (highway speed:o)So buying kites is no problem.

I'm so new at this, and only the 2 kites, but my wife of 39 years is interested and has spent a few minutes on my NPW5! She's a gem! We talked about
her kiting the paraglider when I was spending more time doing that, and she felt she would try it under best wind conditions...but, that's never
happened, what with other things she wants/needs to do. I also think the paraglider was maybe a little more intimidating to her due to it's large
size and evident power, as she's seen me "dance with the wind" with it a few times.
But, I think she'll take to the kiting, and I hope buggying. We both like outdoor stuff, biking, kayaking, hiking, camping, etc., so I think she's
good to go for it.
My suggestions related to the posts so far would be, if you're single, look for someone with at least some of the same likes and some different likes.
You need time together and time doing your own thing over the long haul. If you're married, try everything you can think of to work it out. The
alternatives aren't pretty or as attractive as the near term makes them look.

Couple bits of advice from an old fart who's been happily married to a kitesurfing babe for 20 plus years:
If you're not married yet, hold out for the right lady. They're out there, just not easy to find. I didn't get married until my mid 30's and my wife
and I both surf, kitesurf and are best friends. I've lost count of all the mis-matched couples we know who are miserable or divorced.
If you're looking for a lady who is into the outdoors, then your chances of finding one will be greater if you live somewhere where its worth it to be
outside. Lots of women kiters in Hawaii. No women kiters in Ohio. Do the math.
If you're married to a lady who kites (or is interested in learning) always buy her a new quiver and board first. I learned this when I tried to get
my wife into windsurfing and gave her all my old "hand me down" gear. Big mistake. She got frustrated, never progressed and gave up.
If you want to get your significant other interested in kiting, hang out with couples or women who kite. It's the women kiters who really motivated
my wife to get into the sport.

I was thinking on subject matter and came to conclusion that all kiters, at least tose I know, are proactive. They always do something, not
neccesserily just kiting, but everything else in life, so I add another criteria as the girl must be proactive rather then reactive. Any comments?

Hi, I'm female and only just got my first kite so I'm still very new to kiting. But I found it encouraging that you guys seem
to appreciate the girls who kite rather than look down upon them!
I guess when wanting a relationship, people look for a partner who agrees with the things important to them so they
don't have to give that/them up.

I am in the same boat as you Bloah. I really began to finalize this realization during NABX. A brilliant piece of advise my dad gave me during the
trip helped put at least one thing into perspective for me.
No matter how good-looking, successful, cool, tough, or adventurous any woman (or man just to be fair) may be, always keep this in mind. There's
always AT LEAST one person out there who's just sick of his/her s*#! and can't put up with it anymore, yes son, even a kiter chick.
Thanks dad
