General question about NABX
Hi all,
I'm planing on going up to the NABX event this weekend with a fellow kite enthusiast. This will be my first time there and I was hoping to camp out
for the weekend for the event (Leaving early Friday Morning and getting there before the afternoon - I live in Arizona so it's only a few hour drive).
I guess my question is, I saw campers in previous picture events from prior years, but not many tents. Is tent camping okay? Also will I need to
bring my own water and supplies or are there going to be any vendors selling stuff like water and food and maybe fire wood or do I need to bring
everything (which I don't mind I just need to know)
Another question: since I do not have a buggy yet, is there anyone out in the event that will rent a buggy if I wanted to give it a shot and if so how
much?
Thanks for the help, and if you are going to out for the NABX event let me know and I will come over and say hi!
tight lines!

First time for me too. Coming out from Philly, Friday-Monday.
I had the same question re: tent camping. i will come prepared but figured a shower would be welcome after long days.
Cheers,

I am there now and it is my first time...
If flying into Las Vegas, do your shopping there or off of I-15 South outside of LV in Henderson, south of LV propper. I got off at Blue Diamond,
somewhere around Exit 32'sh (exits are numbered by miles from the border, with Primm Being 1). Go West and you will find a Target for water and
groceries and there is CVS somewhere too. I made the mistake of getting everything besides the cheap throw-away styro cooler, that I assumed I could
get at Primm at the convenience store there. NOT. I should have looked further for a grocery store.
Coming from AZ, i'm not sure; just stop somewhere before where you know you can get stuff.
There is NOTHING in Primm besides 3 casino hotels, and 3 gas stations with ill-equipped convenience stores with no coolers besides cardboard ones that
won't last a day. Primm is not a town but an exit with one street and the casinos. I doubled back 30 miles to Henderson to get a cheap cooler
becuase I knew it would be critical for my week stay. You need lots LOTS of water and it is good to keep it cool. Ice you CAN get locally.
The only facilities on the lakebed are porta-pottie.
Borrow a buggy and maybe ask someone to use the shower in their room. Rooms are only $28 weekdays and $34 weeknds, with cheaper rates available
on-line.
I have to leave Saturday to pack up and ship stuff home for a Sunday AM flight, or would offer more.

Thanks for the info. I would've thought you could get everything you needed at the truck stop, especially a throw away cooler. That being said, I
will be flying into LV Thursday night @ 9:00. I will be making the Target stop by about 10:00PM, so if anybody thinks of an emergency item or two
they need, contact Brad or Susan as they have my cell phone number, my buggy, my kites, my helmet, my elbow pads, my............................ heck,
they've got about everything I own related to buggying. I will be glad to pick up anything needed and should be to base camp before midnight.
If there are still shot car races going on, please save me a lane.
Good Winds,
Mark

We are heading down to the playa on Thursday and will have buggies and can bring anything that anyone will need.
We've also got a new buggy that we will be introducing! We will have three prototypes for people to try out, come on by and take one for a spin, we
are looking for your comments on them before going into full production.
Hopefully we will get some pictures later today or tomorrow.
**sneak info - ever seen the PTW cougar?**
See ya'll on the playa!!!!!
