Hi there. I have a little question. I would like to use my power kite during my ski holidays with my snowboard. In this aim I wanted to try the use of a harness.

Is it possible to use a windsurf harness and adapt it for powerkiting? Has anyone links with clear pictures of kite harnesses? how is a four lined kite attached via three lines on a harness bar...

Tnx for the tips and best wind for 2003.

Nearly all of the current kite harnesses are from windsurfing. You should be able to find a good harness from a windsurfing or kitesurfing shop.

The 2 powerlines connect together at the center of the bar and brakelines each connect to the outter ends of the bar.

It may help to practice flying with quad handles before switching to a bar.

Well thank you Doomwheels for your help...I have the harness in my possession already ...So that's a good point...Is it possible to build the bar alone? Do you know where I could find plans?

tnx again...

There are too many good / inexpensive bars around to advise building your own. Truth is, it would probably turnout bulky and lack safety. Again I suggest going to a kitesurfing shop or ordering one online.

Here is a long list of kitesurfing equipment shops around the world selling gear online:

Things to keep in mind about bars...
1. It should be lightweight yet strong and buoyant.
2. It should have a dependable line attachment system.
3. You will need an adequate depower and quick-release system (a must!).

These above all are the advantages to a professionally made bar.
