Dakine XT vs Fusion Harnesses
I have had an XT harness for quite a while now and just bought a Fusion harness thinking it was going to be just as good.
It looks like it would work well for the water, snow or a board, but when I sit down in the buggy, it cuts off all circulation to my legs. Anyone
else using the Fusion in the buggy? What does everyone recommend? Maybe I just need to loose the beer gut.
Steve.

i use a Fusion .. i agree with you. it was meant for kiteboarding, but i've always used a seat harness for buggying.
i would wear the leg straps lose but tighten your waist up (add the spreader bar pad). also did you find sitting on the buckle in the rear section a
pain too? i've cut my buckle off.
best kitebuggy harness i've used so far would be the Ocean Rodeo one ... a. its seat harness or can be converted to a waist harness. b. unlike Dakine
and having to buy individual pieces, it comes with the speader and spreader pad.
a lot of people are switching over to Rock Climbing harnesses as well.

I've been using Dakine XT seat harnesses for many many years and find it works well kitesurfing, ATB riding, static, and in a buggy.
I've also tried quite a few other harnesses and have gotten rid of them all except for the XT seat. The Fusion does the same thing to me that it does
to you...it cuts of the circulation and presses in to much on my abdomen. Since the Dakine harness does not come with a spreader bar you are free to
choose the bar that best suits you as well. There are long bars, short bars, hook bars and roller bars out there.
Good luck and just stick with what you know works best.

Scott,
Do you find with your XT that the spreader bar occasionally comes unclipped? I'd like to find a way to keep it in better, but other than that I like
it.
Ricardo,
Have you ever tried an XT? How does it compare to the Ocean Rodeo?
Thanks,
Steve.

Hi-I've never had the bar come unclipped while riding. I would suggest tightening the straps more so it can't come undone.
I've been riding with XT seats since 2000 and have never had it come undone.

I'm about to make the switch to a seat harness too. After the spreader bar rubbed against my boney sternum all day, I think I need to..

Go for an XT seat harness. They are comfortable. If you set the straps right the bar will be pretty low. Sometimes if I get pulled hard in a
kitesurfing crash the harness will give me a wedgie but it's better than crushing my ribs so I can't breathe:o

nothing beats the XT harness. I also made the switch to a Fusion because my harness was getting old. Dakine stopped making the XT harness, and thats
the only reason why I moved to the Fusion. If they still had XTs in production still I would remain using that. Note to self: if it works always buy
2.
I've been quite happy using the Ocean Rodeo harness, like i mentioned before its can be converted so I use the Waist style for landboarding and the
Seat style for kitebuggy.
if you can still find a XT Harness ... go back to that.

I have emailed Dakine about making the XT or something similar that is designed just for us. I'll keep you posted with what they come back with.
