Gimme Shelter
I could probably post this in all of the different categories and get varied answers so i figure maybe I'll just put it here. I couldn't help but
notice the "camps" set up in the NABX photos and was thinking about wind shelters...you know, so the dog has a place to chill with the wife while I'm
busy playing around.
So the question - I know I've seen actual beach wind shelters that double a s sunshades. Anyone out there pack one of these around with them and do
they serve varied purpose like out on the Playa and on a snow covered lake just the same? What other options are there?

we pack a 8'x7' dome tent, so we have a wind free space and privacy if needed. It doesn't weigh much, ez to put up,only costs 40 dollars.

My wife snow kites too, but if she gets cold the day is OVER. Often I'll hook up our little 14 foot travel trailer, a 1967 Eriba Triton that only
weighs 800lbs and take it to the frozen lake. It has a furnace and a little kitchen. She can lounge and keep warm between sessions. We'll take the
BBQ and make a day of it. The attached photo is from an Eriba ad from the 70's. I'll attach a pic of our actual "cottage on wheels" on another post.

The trailer in the previous old ad photo was the Eriba Puck. Was light enough to be pulled by a VW Beetle.
The triton is a bit bigger. Very comfy...

I have used this MSR shelter for a few years. It holds up great up to about 30 mph winds.
