Ok so someone here has to know SOMETHING about bridling. I got my N-ARC to fly, but like a sack or potatoes, a wet one for that matter. So in looking at my quiver, what I really need most, more for buggying is a 5m fixed bridle foil. So I sat down, did some math and tried to bridle it. Well when I hang it over my balcony it smashes into a curled wad, kinda like if you run your hand down all the bridles on a kite, it turns into a C-shape. What did I do wrong? The tabs are sewn in at every profile (so 1 foot apart) and then 3 down each profile, each 1 foot apart. So its a 1'X1' grid on my kite, w/ the tabs at the corners of the squares. If none of that makes sense, the pic will help, so whats wrong w/ that bridle arangment?

Looking at that and thinking of my fixed bridles it seems to me that the bridle line lengths are also varied from the center outward. If I recall correctly the Rage's bridle lines are a tad longer as you go outward. They also collect in two steps. If you want, I'll unpack the rage (it's a 4.7) and post the approx measurements for you tomorrow. I'm working on a big project that ties up my computer all day rendering so I've little else to do. Let me know here or via U2U if I can do that for you - I don't mind at all. If for no other reason than to verify what my brain is thinking right now.

Of course you'll likely get your answer before that but if not I'm game.

Thanks man! Thats sweet! Do you know how far apart the tabs are spaced though?

Its perfect!!! I have 8 spaces to either side of center at 1 foot each, well see what happens! ;-)

You gotta learn to use a program like Surfplan. Google it and get the demo version for hobbyists. You might even be able to put your kite into it and do some reverse engineering. Also, sleds are not simple to design. Check out these guys:

http://www.wingine.nl/ and look at the Speed project. Several years old, sounds fast, but temperamental in anything but high, sustained winds.
