50.9 mph GPS'ed out at Ivanpah

Dirtsurfer 16" Flexi Freestyle and a Kitewing Rage 5.5 in about 30+ winds.

I have a video of me hitting 49.something a few weeks later on the same board with a Kitewing IV8. I was towing a rider on a dirtsurfer behind me in about 35+ winds. We headed upwind for as long as I could manage and then we peeled off on a far reach. He let go off the tow rope and I slingshoted downind incredibley fast. What a ride that was, I gained 25 mph in the blink of an eye

If you think it\'s hard explaining HOW something works, try explaining WHY it doesn\'t work.

Sportin\' a Kitewing Monofilm Rage 5.5 (my go to sail), Kitewing Dacron IV8

10m Flysurfer Psycho 2 (incoming and my wallet outgoing), 5m PKD Buster, 4.8 NPW, 3.6m Ballistic Burner, 3m Skytiger, 2.1m Little Devil, 1m IMP

Surfin\' the dirt on a 16\" Flexi Freestyle Dirtsurfer with Hookworms, MBS F3 bindings, Dakine stomppads, and a custom Trampa deck (my go to board)

WOW - - That is just nuts going that fast on something standing up. I can just picture hitting something, anything, and going over forward. Maybe its just because I am close to 40 and don't heal as fast. I'll leave those speeds to guys that are much younger and way more guts than I do.

Flexifoil - Sabre2 5.0m, 9.5m / Bullet 7.0m
Ozone - Cult 4.5m / Yakuza 2.2m, 3.4m / Samurai2 3.0m / IMP 2.5m / IMP Quattro 1.5m
Peter Lynn - Pepper II 3.0m
Rides - Peter Lynn Bigfoot Buggy / Flexifoil Buggy / MBS Mountainboard
Harness - Dakine XT Seat / Ozone AccessXC D-Ring / Ozone AccessXC Spreader Bar

Not once at 50 did I feel unstable or out of control. Speed=stability on a dirtsurfer. I'd be more scared to ride those speeds on a 4 wheel board

51.7mph on skis is my personal best.

I've only been up to 28 mph with my Dirtsurfer and that is fast enough for me

48.7 mph on sand on a Dirtsurfer with Kitewing - here's what it looked like

http://www.vimeo.com/1108127

This next one is just 40mph but it shows how stable a dirtsurfer is.

dirtsurfers have an advantage: Gyroscopic force , with a bigger wheel and being inline like a bicycle or motorcycle. You gain the benifit of gyroscopic force , the faster you go the more it wants to stay in a plane 90 degrees to its axis. so you get the opposite of speed wobble. I don't have one but they look cool.Is it hard to carve at high speed?

Mood: chilled....but ready to SAIL!

i have no idea, but have easily hawked the beach patrol down and they cruise about 25mph in the open. really hard to judge. i don't have a GPS. 12m kite and 15-20mph on a MBS core 16. i would assume maybe 25-30mph. i may have hit forty a few times but hard to say. i knew more by distance a 2 mile stretch, with dead onshore, i can return to my pack in less than 5min. maybe even less. i really haven't paid that much attention to it. higher winds usually puts me on the water.

what GPS would be a good start and waterproof too?
