Help, is this a good buy?
So, I know y'all are more of a traction kite community, but I found this deal and wanted to know if it was good. I am 5'8" and weigh 150lb so the
board does seem a little big. I do not know the sizes of the kites, but will let you know when I find out. I am also a beginner and have a 3.6m
Beamer. Let me know what you think.
Ohh yeah, I can actually get it for $650.

That is no screamin' deal.
Old C kites ( cabrina in particular ) = $150 - $200 complete with bar each.
Board $ 200 - $250
Harness $75.
It is hard to sell C kites at all these days. If these are 2005 and older you won't be able to re-sell very easy at all.
It is a complete package ( minus a helmet ) so it will do the job. Just not as great a deal as it appears.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

i agree with the above
you can do better than that if you build your own 2nd hand package
Oh and i tried that board and it had a very small range... for me anyway (160lbs)

I agree,
We are unsure of the size these kites are also you could be opening a can of worms and get a huge kite...
If you are looS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n for a screaming deal I have a guy that might have a 08 Naish Helix 7m lightly used (no bar) said he would sell it to
me for $475 + shipping (maybe $30/35) U2U me if you'd like I just picked up his 9m and it is sweet... he also has a 12 and a 14m that I'm unsure the
price...

Avoid buying 4 line kites ! Cabrihna is sort of an acception. They had a " recon " relaunch system. Some folks liked it but it didn't exactly catch
on. Even it didn't come out until 04 -05
You can probably go cheapest with a similar set-up.
look for 2 similar 5 line C kites . Buy one complete with 5 line bar . Buy a second kite only. Sizes depend on your winds. Something like 10 and 14. (
a true C kite kit is usually 3 kites )
Buy a decent used board !! It will make all the difference.
Second hand harness, helmet and you are off!
I found an impact / life vest was important when learning in deep water. Lots of Vest / harness combo's on sale on Ebay.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
