YUP,
Without a doubt the best money you can spend is on lessons ! You will walk away with confidence that you can handle yourself. The lessons themselves will springboard you into the riding level. Trying to figure it out on your own can be very frustrating and slow. By the time you are done you will have flown a few kites and have a much better idea of the right gear for your own needs and area. Potentially saving you money , time and Agro ".

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Yeah, kites powerfull enough to pluck you out of the water are dangerous without proper professional instruction. It is a big investment for everything you need and it's easy to get the wrong stuff. An instructor will help you with that.

choose the right spot for beginners

shallow water
on shore or on-side shore winds
stable winds if possible
not too much waves

practice body drag a lot

and yup take lessons, they will teach you a lot of stuff about security that you will not have thought of
