Well, we've got 32 km winds today and I "allowed" myself to step away form the desk during the work day to make the best of it. With the Rage 4.7 in tow and the Coyotes on my feet I hit the field and had the MOST amazing fun I've ever been able to have out there with a kite.

The field is too small and ridden with obstacles to get good long runs in on skis in the winter but these Coyotes are PERFECT! They bite the ground incredibly well and are so short that you can literally dance around the field having the time of your life in a space about the size of a baseball diamond outfield. It's only because of this nimbleness that the field is any use to me because the topography is what it is and the wind is notoriously dirty beyound belief. With the Coyotes you can react instantly to changes and keep the kite working with you, not against you. The ATB will either leave me on the kite killers or eject me off the board in some of the gusts. Skis in the winter are a complete no go unless you like stopping at the end of the run and walking your skis around to go back the other way.

Try and save your money for SOBB. Even if you fly in to Van , I or someone can no doubt drive you down .

Everyone who comes from a skiing / kiteskiing background should give these puppies a run ! But that's enough. There are only so many sets of these out there to go around :ticking:

JUST pulled it. I just took the shaft out for the time being (the one attached to the back of the boot). When I was out there it was grabbing a bit still even though it was backed off as far as it would go so I had to pull it. I found that carving hard upwind and using the kite as the brake was super effective anyway and at worst I was able to "twist" my feet to a semi-snowplow (although you'd hardly know - it didn't take much twist to create enough friction).

I'm dying to suit up and head back out but since I don't use a strop with the Rage (yet) my arms are baked ; )
