what's the smallest kite you've ever jumped on?

was in danger of hijacking another thread, so...

What's the smallest kite you've ever jumped on?

wild-ass supermans in crazy winds ok, as long as you landed on your feet (has anybody?)

controlled jumps for me? 5m Ace, I'm afraid.

foolish superman? 3m legend. (def did NOT land on my feet! took two weeks b4 I could shave again...)

I'm sure somebody out there can beat that!

disclaimer: jumping with small kites is dangerous!

cheers,

furbo

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

jumping with little kites is EXCITING! 2.2 yakuza in 40mph, went up about 10 feet, came down right where I departed the ground.......

ok.....then whe I landed my kite surged the suddenly inflated....got my "wild-ass superman" in and landed gently on my belly...

The 1st kite I ALWAYS take out of my bag to "warm up" with is my 2.5 Bullet. I have jumped with this kite many times. Yes- its not made for jumping but any kite will lift if the conditions are right!

As for the smallest- Are you ready?....1.8 Beamer II. In extreme high winds I can get 3-4 feet up with this. Fast and hard but its still a flight!

definitely been superman'ed about 15ft down wind and 5ft off the ground behind a pansh Ace 4m....managed to land running

lets just say it was a very very gusty day and I promptly packed things up after that.

in 15-20mph winds I've gotten little 5ft decent hang time pendulum jumps static flying with the ace.

It wasn't a jump more like a snatch. I will see if I can get a pic on here for ya. It was that 2.5 prism stylus. When I first started kiting had it out in 40+ gusts and got snatched. Foolish noob. and flying on two lines.

speaking of snatches I've been yanked the odd quick 1 or 2 m scud behind a 2.7 symphony (2m) 2 line. At that point it feels like its crossing the window in about a second and I can barely keep on top of it, the only reason I haven't super-manned on it is because there's been a couple of times I haven't had the balls to get it out, didn't think i was quick enough for it

that's on nice beach sand, way too soft to ride a bike through.

@eli -- yes the air in hk can be quite nice at times --:ninja::cool:

My 3m trainer has picked me up about 5 feet a few times, granted I was trying just to see if I could, but it was the last thing I expected. That must be funny for the people watching you get lifed like 5-10 feet with a little 2 meter. Like look at you, look at the kite, look at you get lifted, and then stare at the kite and wonder....how?

I have been flung like I was made of styrofoam, by a Pansh ACE 2.0. in 35 mph wind. That is by far the scariest kite I own, then again the ACE 2.5 is pretty scary too! But the 2.0 is so dangerous, Pansh did not even offer linesets for it.

I have been lifted off my board by my Ace 2m in 25 mph. When youre going about 15mph, and get a couple inches up, you realize youre going to eat it in a most unglorious way! But by then the adrenaline is pumping, so you dont really feel it... till later!

My 1.5 Profoil unweighted me once, but I don't think it actually got me off the ground. A lighter person would've been picked up. I'd hate to depend on it for the ride down though.

Prism Snapshot 1.9 when I was flying out in Lubbock on the leading edge of a nasty dust storm, wind was 35mph gusting to 45, one of the gusts caught me in the powezone and pulled me into a short but unhappy superman.
