harness with handles question
So I was thinking of picking up a harness so I could extend my flying time without wearing myself out.
Is it ok and doable to have a harness with quad handles? If so how do I attatch the handles to the harness.
I know this is another NOOB question from me but I have never looked at a harness up close in person so I have no clue on how thew work.
Oh and I may add a bar into the mix later down the road so Would I be able to use the same harness or do I need 2 different ones?

That looks pretty good and a good price. Real Kiteboarding is a company you can trust.
Harnesses are VERY personal ! There are seat and waist harnesses and not all fit everyone well. Comfort is key because you will wear it all day.
Try and cut a deal with Real that if you don't like this model you can do an exchange. Just in case ! I expect they will understand.
Your handles will have a line out the back on the top of the handles. Get about 2ft of climbing rope and larks head to the lines on the top of the
handles. You will want to adjust the length to one that is comfortable for you .
A simple " hammer head " spreader will be fine. Then you can flop the " strop " ( climbing rope ) in and out of the spreader at will. The length of
spreader will relate to your waist size. 10" is most common.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Dakine Tabu, the one you have pictured. I have no problems with it. I love it. I am pretty small so i went with the X-small and a 6' spreader bar. I
find it very very comfortable now that i have figured out why it hurt so much LOL past couple weeks. I didn't have the spreader bar inserted correctly
into the spreader pad. I find it comfortable now. I have it on for at least 4hrs when i am out. because it is a waist harness it tends to ride up
if you don't have it on tight enough. sometimes mine ends up under my arms. SUCK IT IN SUCK IT IN AND TIGHTEN LOL. After a little Labored breathing
your ready to go LOL. if you do get this harness YOU MUST GET THE SPREADER PAD. it prevents the bar from digging into your ribs. IT'S A MUST!. if
you want to be comfortable. I have it with the hammer head spreader. Some Prefer the Seat harness but they can make walking a little weird and can
sometimes put some pressure on your thighs. Like Bladerunner they are very personal. it all depends on what you are comfortable with. hope this
helps :duh:

I use the Dakine XT Seat harness with a hammerhead spreader. I am 6' - 220 lbs so I use size XL with a 12" spreader and pad. It works real nice and
is a seat harness. It is however a little bulky to have on while setting up, or if you are using it in a buggy. I also use the Ozone AccessXC harness
and I absolutely love it. Finding one in stock was the hard part. I literally called all over the US to find one in stock....this after waiting 5
weeks for a backorder. I just could not wait any longer. Connecting strops take a little more work as it has a metal loop and no hook like the
hammerhead. To overcome this I use a Wichard / Holt Allen combo. It works really nice and is much more comfortable when setting up and using the
buggy.
It really comes down to your personal preference and what you want out of it.
Flexifoil - Sabre2 5.0m, 9.5m / Bullet 7.0m
Ozone - Cult 4.5m / Yakuza 2.2m, 3.4m / Samurai2 3.0m / IMP 2.5m / IMP Quattro 1.5m
Peter Lynn - Pepper II 3.0m
Rides - Peter Lynn Bigfoot Buggy / Flexifoil Buggy / MBS Mountainboard
Harness - Dakine XT Seat / Ozone AccessXC D-Ring / Ozone AccessXC Spreader Bar

Sweet. Thanks guys. Well Im 6' and 150# and wear a 30-32 pant/short so Id have to go with the small. Its on sale since its last years model so I can
get the whole package (Spreader Bar and Pad) for $99 as opposed to just the 2008 harness for $99.
I might just take a drive down there to buy it that way I can try it on and leave with it right away instead of waiting for the UPS man

Go with the DaKine XT seat harness. You will love it. Won't ride up and end up under your arms. I've been using XT harnesses since around 2000 or
2001.

Take a look at this thread. Near the end is some pics of one of my handle sets. I use windsurfing harness lines on my handles.

Could you tell me about this Wichard / holt Allen combo?
Do you have a picture or a link to it?
As well, do you find the AccessXC "squezzes" you when it is pulling real hard? (which is what the spreader bar negates)
