Flysurfer Titan 15.5! Yes or No?

I rode silver arrow 19 today in 6 knots or so. Gosh! I even stayed upwind! That was my best ride ever. I also used Spleene Door, really big freaking board.

Anyway, Now I need a low wind kite that will get me going in 10 knots or so! Would Titan 15.5 do it?
I am 150 pounds and have prodigy cabringa 148 board.

This is the kite I want to buy

Powerzone and other flysurfers here, please help!
Thanks!

you'll have to save up for a Silver Arrow 15, 17, or 19.... the regular fabric kites just don't compare and especially canopies older than the Speed1 series.

the TITAN 9.5m was about the only 'good' size of that model... big ones have too much down-wind pull.

once you've felt the ability of the SA kites, nothing else will match it... sorry buddy.

If you keep your eye out you can probably find a speed 17 1.5 in regular fabric in that price range.

Some people are gah gah over the silver arrow fabric, but some say it doesn't really make much difference on the water...more of a saver in snow. Personally, I don't have a clue, just passing on what I've heard.

Hi Yuri

Sounds like you had this feeling where you remember the guy with the balloon telling you when you were practicing your waterstart: what's that foil, nobody rides that, you should buy a LEI.... And you wish he sees you while riding in no wind, so you could laugh at him now....

Just go with a Speed1 with mod1.5, or save up for the SilverArrow or regular Speed2.

Theres been one on Ikitesurf.com in the classifieds at 750$ may be it still available. It has a mixer 8.2.1 no FDS, which you can order from John.

Check foilzone too, there are 2 sections of classifieds

2 other places I look for used Flysurfers once in a while if you dont mind getting it from Europe

kaf.forum.free.fr French Flysurfer group
ebay.de (always lot of FS )

Hey man

Dont know if these are in the size range your looking for, but there are 3 speed 1s for sale at skypilotkiteboarding.com. They are 13m,10m, and a 7m. They are 750,700 and 650 I believe. They are in the Ontario forum buy and sell, and the add just says kites for sale.

the big difference of the SA cloth to regular cloth is the Float... if/when you overfly the kite or mess up a jump, the Regular cloth will fold and fall out of the sky whereas the SA fabric will keep its shape and just float back into the window with little or no input . like a feather.

the SA cloth has a lower top-end since its so light, probably 4knots or so. the wind can push it back into the powerzone easier than the heavier standard cloth in higher winds.

both pull very hard and jump very well, the regular cloth has harder steering feeling and has a longer bar than the SA 17m kites. also , the SA cloth is not as water-tight as the standard fabric...but the SA never touches the water its so light it just stays up there.

if you want that feeling you got from the 19m and 7knots of wind, then get an SA to solve all your low wind days. take it from us SA riders, all 15m or bigger sizes should be in SA cloth.
