32 miles on ATB today!!

Wow, I am beat. Ive never gone that far before. If there werent so many people out today, it would have been further. I had to keep my pace reaal slow, and stop quite a number of times. Maybe I should have not gone out today with the crowds, but I couldnt help myself. All went well, and nearly everyone was shocked to see what I was doing. I guess not many people down in TX have been exposed to the sport, then again, I didnt know either until last year.

I'm sunburnt, exhausted, my hands feel like theyre gonna fall off, and I'm bleeding a little. Would I do it again?? Damn straight. But with my knee pads.

What are some other member's long runs?

2-3hrs are typical ATB runs . could be 20 miles with 100-200 transitions could be 50 miles with 3-4 mile runs.

I AVOID CROWDS WITH THE ATB. any "traffic concerns" usually means poor site selection. although rollin slow and controlled is excellent reinforcement of skills.

Gotta share the space brother the "visitors " will go away, the wind and you will be back again, and again, and again, and again.

Dylan,
Were you at Zilker? You have got to come up to Old Settlers some time. The field I buggy in is always empty. The winds are also smoother than Zilker. I usually buggy between 20-30miles in an evening, but I have to admit I have it easy compared to you.

Steve.

I boarded from the end of the seawall to the water tower near San Louis Pass in Galveston. I cant wait to get down near padre and break my record. I probably need to tune the board up a bit before I do that, though.

I usually fly at Zilker, it is really close, and the land is pretty even. Do you fly in the back of OSP, in that field that has that little fenced in area in the center???

Wow, that's a good run. You have to fly the kite over some houses in several sections for an onshore wind right? We buggy down at SLP several times a year, but we avoid the crowds. I'll let you know when we have an event.

This is where I buggy. I use the field identified by the blue shaded area. The Green box shows the field that we are trying to get the Round Rock Parks Dept to allow us to use. We hope it will be open this fall. My field has no fences or other obstructions in the middle.
