As has been stated again and again, you can be lifted by any kite in the right wind. I immagine you could even be lifted by a stunt kite if the spars, bridle and lines would stand up to it. However, it is not advisable to jump with a smaller kite in higher winds. A small kite in will pull you up faster than a large kite, but will drop you much faster than a larger one as well. On top of this, higher wind will usually be much gustier than lower winds. Here is what you do, get you a decent 4 line foil in the 2-4 meter range to learn with. Then get you a larger foil after you get used to it for jumping. Keep the smaller one for days when its too windy for the larger one.

Good luck

Use kites for what they wre intended!
If you want to do stunts - use a stunt kite
If you want to scud/jump get a traction kite!

(Unless you buy one of those silly 4m stunt kites than you can do almost anything:D)

If your going to get a radsail, get one in the pro series. Im not sure what 100 quid equals out too, but you should save just a little more and get a pro. They are much better than the regular I am told. I personally am very fond of PKD Busters. The 3 or 4 meter is a great kite.

You can get a 2m PKD buster for £100 from Kite Dynamics in London, see their web site at www.kitedynamics.co.uk for more info.
But not great for jumping but will be good for learning to fly and scudding in reasonable winds.

Yung one-

Listen to what these people are saying about jumping with a small kite. Don't do it unless you like fractures and ligament damage. Get yourself a 2-3 meter kite and fly it until you can fly it with your eyes closed... then get a bigger kite for jumping. A 2.2 or 2.4 will dump you on your ass with authority!
