Body Armor recomendations with seat harness

So my wife finaly saw my new crossfires and learned of my intent to use them for flinging myself through the air attached to a wheeled board. I was promptly repromanded for my behavior and then told that she found my current level of protection to be sadly lacking ( helmet and older set of skate pads). I've been instructed to upgrade ( who am i to argue against new toys of any sort ). so i'm looking for recomendations chest /back ,arms, knee/shin and wrists. so far i've been looking at the Rockgardn flak jacket , and the EVS BJ22 ultra my concern is that the spine protectors will cause issues when i'm wearing my dakine fusion harness. anyone know if this is an issue? any other makes of armor to sugest.? i have yet to look at legs or wrists but T.H.E. Storm was suggested as the way to go for knee shin armor. any thoughts ? ( help a guy out how often do we get told to spend more on toys?)

I've had very good luck with the Thor Impact Rig. it's a motorcycle set up, but it's very solid, and breathes pretty well in the heat. I might add I've never used it for kite flying, only for motocycling, so I don't know if it would cause problems with your harness.

hey guys, its actually 661 gear. What about butt pads? Hillbilly are good. they also have wrist guards (might get in way of grabbing bar. 661 has wrist wraps that might do the trick. usually hit my knees, elbows or my butt. I' For knees and elbows i suggest skate park pads as they give the most impact protection and extend further down the shin than most regular skate pads. that also helps keep them in lace during a wreck. I used to use some 661 knee shin guards, but they offered very little foam impact protection. There was a good outer plastic plate, but imagine your bare knees hitting 1 inch of foam and plastic at 15mph or higher. Its better than nothing, but knees still bleed because of the abrasion. My park pads have much more foam impact protection. I don't like pressure suits. most come with the back thing and that sucks for a harness. Also chest and shoulder armor are cool, but i've never hit those parts when i've bit it. there is a first time for everything though... i hope this helps

I use RICOCHET KNEE / SHIN GUARD from 661 it is awesome other than the rivets are rusting a bit. A full face helmet (pryme with the open cell foam replaced with closed cell...) and Mace elbow and arm armour. I don't wear an impact vest but I do use a neoprene wet suit vest it keeps me warm and protects some what from punctures. I have looked at shoulder pads but find them really messes my balance up. I am looking for a spine guard but tried a friends but didn't like it under the harness. I some times (when the wind is nuking) wear a neck band, it pads around the bottom of the helmet and prevents you head from whipping around (broken neck...) It does limit how much you can look up.

I use helmet, knee, elbow pads, and burton impact shorts, and hightop shoes tied really tight. Thats it, and so far, when I wear them, no injuries. The worst injuries I have had from not wearing pads are on my left thigh (real bad pain... especially the second time), hence the shorts- they dont interfere with my radsails seat harness, and my left knee (no such thing as "light wind so you dont need pads when youre boarding").

I use a Try Lee Design for upper body protection and a 661 padded pants. The Troy Lee Descender is so comfy you can wear it by itself when it's hot, the 661 has padding all over. I never ride without these gears, they're awesome.
