sure thing PKF

I was informed today that I'm responsible for MOST of the complaints on PKF
Most of the complaints on this forum come from me!!!???

I'm sorry to all the member who find my posting anything other than funny and helpful...

I invite you to find me on forum where the moderation is a little less bias..

www.nwkite.com
www.napkra.com

sorry again. I won't be here much anymore...the abusive notes i get from BOB litterally ruin my day!

sorry,

Eli OUT!!!

I have said in the past that many of your posts in the past have been educational to me and you have a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer and share, but You've frustrated me a time or two. Moderation bias? I've hardly noticed any moderation at all that wasn't warranted. If biased means sticking to the stated rules then well maybe. Maybe we will get the chance to buggy and kite together someday and the face to face will allow a full understanding of your personality and a wide open appreciation of your sense of humor. Chow.

I hear ya Eli I don't hang out here much anymore either let alone post many comments. The biggest problem to me seems to be to many know it all folks in here that have little to no kiting knowlegde, but have a couple of kites and think they know it all and comment on everything and then give the pros of the sport grief for getting upset at their advice to others which is usually what I consider to be junk advice.

As an ex-(for the moment...:D) know-it-all myself with a quiver and few skills I can say I've enjoyed the forum for its extreme tolerance... It's been a place where i can hang out my opinion, get feedback from a lot of folks who at are my stage yet also with the thought that there's a few crusty experienced sorts out there who can sort us relative newbies out given the right mood and a good question...

Eli being one of the crusty sorts, will be missed...

Online families take all sorts, eh?

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

"Online family" is right. I've never come across a post that I took offense to, nor have I ever REALLY felt that any post has been brutally commercial in nature - except the obvious ones which all the pkf'ers jump all over to make sure everyone knows they are spammers or bots or not legit. I take comfort in knowing you are all here to help me out and if I've ever came across as all knowing in anything I've ever said I apologize. Odds are once I've got nothing left to learn I'll slowly, quietly slip away onto new challenges for my life....like lawn bowling or something. (No disrespect there either - I think lawn bowling is cool....) Until then, I'm no know-it-all. I just know what's been the case in my world of understanding.

Happy to have gotten to "know" Eli here. If he goes he'll be missed but I'll keep his phone number in my files and WILL see him on the beach sometime within the next year - that's my promise to you brother.

I think that someone's feet will always get stepped on. I also think it's up to that person to figure out how they want to deal with it. Eli you are really cool man, I have looked up to you and your skills the entire time i've gotten started into kite landboarding. Hope to meet you someday at the beach. It sounds like you are blaming others for getting "butt hurt" but then again who started the thread? you know what i mean? Nothing against you but it just seems like it's doublestandard. If you leave it was awesome to be able to learn from your pool o' knowledge and great knowing you.

I guess I'm lumped in with know-it-all. I do post a lot but I try to always reflect that its my opinion or my experience. I'm usually trying to learn something through the threads we have here. I'm really passionate about this and really love hearing others opinions and experiences. I'm in front of the computer most of the day and check here often, so I'm many times one of the first to respond to a query. If I checked here once a day or 3 times a week, I wouldn't post 10% as much as I do because it would've already been settled in most cases.

IMHO, a forum like this needs 3 kinds of people.

1. The complete newbie wanting to know which 8 meter kite will be good to learn to kite jump with.
2. Those that are at least somewhat up the learning curve. (I place myself somewhere in this group).
3. Those that measure their kite experience in decades.

Possible respective mistakes each above can make.
1. Won't listen to good advice.
2. Think you don't have anything else to learn.
3. Think because someone doesn't agree with you or doesn't have more than a dozen kites or over 20 years experience, that they don't have anything to offer or shouldn't express their opinion or experiences.

We see glimmers of #1 several times a month, but they usually come around. I can't come up with a name that fits #2. I never realized that #3 existed here.

Eli, I wouldn't sweat a few complaints. Don't let the haters keep you down (or off the forum). People with strong opinions are bound to brush a few folks the wrong way. Good natured debates are good for the forum and the sport. :saint:

Honestly I'd rather hear people actually get a little heated from time to time than all of the sugary sweet mushy gushy that I often read. :barf:

Just for the record, I've never reported anyone or complained about them behind their back. I'm usually guilty of going at them head-on if I disagree with them, maybe to a fault. This forum is what it is because of all of us that post. A loss of a poster is a loss if a valuable opinion and knowledge. Everyone loses.

Eli you have done nothing but good for our sport and our community and i cant understand why there would be any kind of complaining about you .your advise is always precise and your razzing is fun and like a big brother taken with a grain of salt. you have turned me on to some great kites over the years and i always look forward to hanging with you weather on the beach or in town with a cold beer.maybe I'm bias because i know you and not some of the others that are complaining but if they knew you like i do they may feel different .keep up the good work my friend and if i don't see you post here anymore it just means my phone bill will go up . sent with respect , Ken.

I have no problem with commercial posts. One of the major reasons I bought bike magazines was to get the ads, especially those with prices. I love to know about a sale of good gear. I see lots of posts here about pass the ---- programs no one complains about these even though they are pretty obviously commercial posts. I do not mind people pumping their product as long as any and every one can do it and the product is kite related(my problem getting it up requires information about bridle adjustment, not cheap viagra).
At powerkitecanada, the admins ( Ripsession, dirtslide, myself) decided at the start that commercial postings were fine as long as they were identified as such, not excessive, and did not use negative marketing(i.e. my telling you that xyz products are crap without telling you I represent ZYX). It should be pointed out that Ripsession pays the freight for pkc - thank you Richard.
So if Eli wants to post that the Yakuza's are finally in or Dakitez has some deal to entice you to put your money on a Pansh, they are welcome to you tell you about it on pkc, and on Ricky's nickel too. Of course we only have 55 members so it might no be worth the effort.

Jon hasn't shown you his rocking chair idol? Some of the Texas gang (Rick & Sarah?) made it and presented it to him at dbbb a few years back. I think he said he keeps it on his mantle or something.

Why did he drag up this old thread? Probably the onset of Dementia :singing:
