there were teams of three pilots. The goal was who could break the world record for distance in a 24 hour period. A team from holland won with 1050Km
with many teams close behind. there were 34 teams and together they rode over 28000 Km in 24 hours.
I would have also been there but I had to fly to the states one week earlier. but the next time I'm there!!

yah, what Krohn said ... did you see the section with the lights only.
yes, there is still someone who uses a delta kite as a buggy engine. not to mention another dude who uses a JN Prima Donna (LEI) too.

The Delta is an S-kite. They are still used in races here.
There are also several takes of the new Yakuza GT.
You can also see how good the Brooza is in heavy winds. In the one take it looks like a Brooza I is about to pass a spirit.
By the way it was team Libre Holland that won. They were flying the spirit.
So the record is set. who will try to break it next?

Anyone that has a questions on how to gain speed while flying should just watch the way these guys do the SINE ~ movements.
Also they do a great job of flying upwind and maneuvering the kite.
I would recommend this video to ANYONE that has questions about how to fly a kite while atb/buggying.
Thanks for the post, that video is sweet!

cool event.
i am pleasantly surprised by the low entry fee and high amount of entrants. seems that para-karting is much more popular sport abroad.
*side note-i recently phone a Canadian, nation wide, distributor of a popular, high end, brand kite manufacturer to inquire about a fixed bridle kite.
they had only one small FB kite in stock. I'm guessing it was a demo or a shipping error. they do not stock any of the multiple models of FB kites.
this is a nation wide distributor. there reason for no FBs in stock is "because nobody buggies in western Canada and only a few do so in eastern
Canada. oh-kee do-kee :?:
hopefully things are'a chang'n

which distributor? hopefully it wasnt us ... you should hit up Prairewind on here, he's probably near you that buggies, with some fb race foils.
lots of buggiers on the west and east coast, just not much happens in the middle. come to the west and little south of the border and ride with us.
SOBB is only a few days away.
ps. i havent heard back from Carlisle Tire yet on your midi tires. hope you're not in a rush. =)

Hi Ricardo.
It wasn't you folks.
I will U2U Prairewind and see where he's at.
I started traction/buggy sports long after holidays were booked. Next year will be different story. I am so looking forwards to taking at least one
"kite" trip next year. Darn WestJet prices have friggin skyrocketed. I was born in Squamish, raised in Vancouver and then Kamloops. Trip back home is
getting very pricey but will happen for sure next year.
no rush on the tires. i don't think i can run wide enough for soft sand/loose soil and i'm not near hard pack beaches. I will try midis and maybe
plan a trip to Brule Lake (dunes and a beach, so I'm told). Never been there, it's a popular dirt bike local about three hours drive I think.
thanks for the heads up
