Ok so i know it's a holiday weekend and alot people are out at parks and beaches. I am setting up my kite. but to some it's like i may be knitting or
maybe even doing a little gardening on the field. 2 acres LOL 2 ACRES and look where this guy decides to park his chair
HAHAHA I just laughed and moved over more, then it was getting too much with people everywhere. decided it was best to pack up. especially when i was
resting and people were parking there chairs on my lines. ugghhh :flaming:

Yeah people never cease to surprise me....I really don't think they mean anything by it...I think their just clueless about kites and the amount of
room we need.
Had a soccer coach 'cone' me in one time preparing for a practice....it was so blatant I just had to laugh.
BTW, looks like a nice place to kite!!

same thing happened Saturday.
at a kite festival with designated areas set up for single, dual, sport, and large kites (in back forty). all areas sectioned off and clearly marked
with signs/ribbons. the wind was far too strong, let alone gusty, for 95% of the kites there and the designated areas were pretty much empty most of
the day.
go figure why the "nice" people felt it prudent to constantly mosey into the back forty where a few of us traction kiter's were since the start of
the festivities. the wind was steady, in direction, so we pretty much stayed on the same course all day.
sure, you have to expect a lot of amazed/curious folks/children coming over for a better look. that is fine and i am more than happy to chat with any
person of any age.
i'm talking about all the "kind" folks that consistently set up right in the middle of the runway (flying their single line, bi-wing airplane, kite
with the constantly breaking of the line).
all day long...you'd head to one particular end, make a turn and see some 'nice fella' walking to/standing in the middle of runway of which you just
came from, and had done so for hours. i accidentally ran over a line or two by late afternoon.
you'd almost think the organizers might have offered a little assistance in keeping order :P
i don't send a steak back to kitchen, i just don't go back to the restaurant.
i'll never go back to that festival.

Prism Snapshot 1.2 with a cute tail....Don't laugh that was my first foil LOL. I was happy i saw one. and it was someone who looked like they might
be into power kiting. who knows maybe next year this time i will be boarding with someone. last year this time i had a prism stylus. :D

When that happens to me I ask them to please move their chairs because we are flying kites. So far everytime they say: oh, I'm sorry, didn't realize
I was in the way. So far so problems with anyone. Just be polite.

i agree. being polite is the right choice and all of us conducted ourselves accordingly. i did apologize to the fella for driving over his line. i did
not know, until after the fact, that it was the fella (with female companion) who'd been watching us, for an hour or so, cruise back and forth on the
same stretch of field. so, he watches us for a while then sets up right where he knows we are running. nice.
asking/advising people to kindly not be in the path of the fast moving kites/vehicles is part of the game is usually works well enough.
what ticked me was having to ask the same four/five people all day long. these people would move right back to point they had just been asked to make
way. strangely enough, i did not see any of these people standing in the middle of the busy road(s) flying there kites. go figure.
this was an organized kiting event with separated, designated areas. this was not a 'just another day at a public park/beach' where joe public comes
first. these people were not joe public, they were fellow kiters.

Was that Callingwood Paul? I heard they were having a hard time getting volunteers for anything let alone keeping order. Glad to hear you had good
winds. Saturday was heaven out at the lake, Sunday monday - not a breath.

yeah, great winds. i for sure beat my own speed record.
the day was a little pricey though:singing:
it started out simple. i emailed vince/horizon kites to inquire about a new seat for the buggy. he replied shortly saying he'd get back to me when he
had a minute as he was busy packing car for kite festival. "kite festival" oh, oh.
...we had a wedding (my cousin) to attend, my wife was out getting her hair done and picking up new dress. gramma (out of town 1.5 hours/one way) was
coming to babysit. wife came home to find out i was taking off for kite festival. i had some explaining to do and quick.
i made her a deal...if i do not make it back in time for reception, i take her for steak and lob. we went for steak and lob;-)
i have to face my cousin/family this weekend at my sister's wedding:o
i heard you had some fun at the lake. good on ya.
