Buggy GPS

Hey all,

On some of the buggy max speed pics, people are showing a picture of an old yellow gps.. black and white LCD sort of thing.. does anyone know the name of this thing, as I don't want a top of the range one for travelling across the sand..

Hi all!
I have just purchased a Garmin etrex but was wondering on how everyone attaches them to your downtube.
My thoughts are to purchase a winshield type mount, remove the suction cup thing and maybe zapstrap it to the down tube.
Does anyone have any pics they can post as to what might work the best?
Thanks

Hey Ken,
I opted for the simplest version I could. I bought the carrying case (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=814) and just wrapped a cable tie to the downtube. It has a belt clip and I clipped it on the tie = done. 20$ but it is easy and works reasonably well.

Nice work Susan! I opted for a velcro tie wrap around the downtube, through one of the bolt holes (my downtube is extended as far as possible) and use the leatherette overcase with the belt clip on the back to slip over the velcro strap. Puts the unit right by my unit (if you know what I mean) and I'd rather have it up by the forks. I'm going to see what I can do to make Susan proud of me ; )

hey ken#3

i have one of these: http://www.duffelbags.com/store/products/E_Pod-1323-14.html

i'll show you mine on the weekend, but i didnt have to pay that much if i remember correctly. its waterproof and air tight so its a little cushion for your GPS. just drop your gps in the pouch fold the flap 3 times, and you can clip it around your downtube.
