Why you should only Ship USPS to Canada !
My most recent Coyote purchase ended with a $56.27 bill on a $122.50 set of blades
I asked the seller ahead if He would ship USPS, it arrived by UPS :ticking:
$39.10 to pay a broker to charge me taxes on something that comes in as a toy and $0 extra in the mail :puzzled: :piggy:
The seller also paid about $10 too much for shipping compared to USPS :megan:

Paper work is apparently even easier for Americans shipping with USPS to Canada.
USPS all the way to ship to Canada.
Just bad their tracking is a shame. You only know when it gets there.

I "lucked out" one day and got a really helpful person on the phone from UPS for no other reason than to get questions answered about brokerage fees.
Now, I can't really recall exactly but it's all based on declared value. There is a flat fee assessed based on declared value and then usually the
assessed fee is just GST and maybe duties. I learned this lesson painfully years ago on an RC plane that I ended up paying $10 more and waiting two
weeks than had I gone the 3.1 km up the road (we checked) to the hobby store. The great deal was topped off by about $80 in UPS brokerage fees.
USPS or bust ; )

UPS bills you customs and their broker fees in one. it was probably $9.10 in customs based on $122, and the rest was broker fees.
UPS has the highest broker fees for individuals.
you can however dispute the customs fee if you feel that you were wrongly charged. it takes about 2 months to finalize everything, with a cheque in
the mail.
let me know if you need help.

YES I understand how the fees break down. The $39.10 is the brokers fee the rest is excise and taxes. What is a hoot is they charge taxes on the
brokers fee ! :megan:

If you pay alittle extra and go with usps express you get detailed tracking all the way and you will get it in half the time (depending on customs of
course).
I have noticed to Canada its usually around $7-$8 extra for express over priority. thats not bad

You know I have been burned the same way a number of times! What really kills me is when I had my buggy (2 packages of over 16kg each) shipped from
Keith at Winddragon it cost me a grand total of 165$ it arrived from England in 4 days. I have paid 45$ plus 53$ brokerage/duty and waited longer for
a kite. Why does it cost so much and take so long to get things from the us when it comes from Europe cheaper and faster? :dunno:

I paid $45 for a line set on ebay and asked the seller to ship USPS - he refused and shipped UPS & cost me another $34.50 . I gave a neutral
feedback and he gives me negative feedback with the comment "Jack AS$ Canadian buys item then leaves nuet FB for UPS. Retard!" I'll never buy from him
again.
I have always been able to trace USPS Express Mail International shipments - ask for the tracking number below the bar code on the CP72 Customs
