Nights in Rodanthe

I wanted to please my wife on this skunk weekend so I took her to the movie for a romantic film called "Nights In Rodanthe" with Richard Gere.

No idea what was the film about, it happens to be shooted in Rodanthe, Cap Hatteras, NC.

Booring film but wonderful scenes. I was dreaming about kitesurf during the whole movie. I wanna go there.

My parents are camping there for 6 weeks right now. My dad flies kites but can't right now due to a neck injury. He is fishing and mom is biking. I wish I could pop up there for 3-4 days with them.

Saturday in Rodathne - Winds NE around 20. From Kitty Hawks new store we could count nearly 50 kites on the sound. Winds were off shore!

Sunday me and some buds crusied down to Frisco for an epic afternoon session. Winds NE around 20 mph. Perfect side shore conditions!

I remember going up to Kitty Hawk in the early spring of 1999 to kitesurf. There was me and only a couple of other people anywhere kitesurfing. What a fun time.

My favorite place was just behind Jockey's Ridge. Rarely was there anyone on the beach to get in the way of the crazy kitesurfer.

I've not been back since 1999. I'm sure it is crazy now.
