UK kite buggying sites...where's best?

Hi,
do any of the Brits out there have a list of the best kite buggying beaches/spots? I live in the south and have been to Saunton Sands (North Devon) which seems good. Where else?:D

Hi Delboy,

I've just bought a kite and ATB and have been wondering the same as you.
Have you tried hayling beach? I've been told that the beach near "the Inn on the beach" pub is fairly flat and the tide goes out miles. Only had the kite for 4 days, so not had time to get out and about.

The other alternative is to phone filarinskis in havant and ask Carl where they go in salisbury and southampton:o .

Brean sands is a decent place to fly, just below weston-super-mare, berrow flats i think it's called. Decent sized beach, plenty of space for kiteing of all different varieties.

Wind doesn't stop. GR8

On the west coast.
ainsdale beach between liverpool and southport just north of woodvale. the south end of the beach is for kite buggies only.

and a little place on the east coast.
just south of bridlington(15 mins walk allong the beach) called fraiserthorpe beach (get to it from from fraiserthorpe)
usualy nice and quiet when I have been there camping.

I wouldn't say they are among the best but they are quiet enough ,as far as I can see.

The UK is a pretty big place and there are simply loads of beaches that are excellent for buggying. Although as you are in the south, you will find quite a few restrictions on the beaches as most of them get pretty busy during the summer months. As you have discovered Saunton can be pretty good (there are restrictions during the summer). Wales has loads of options and some pretty quiet beaches and I've had some of my best days kiting in the Outer Hebrides (although that is a long way for you to travel!)

You're sure to find a decent beach whereever you are, there are just so many!

Have fun.
Al.
