What did you find in your garage
So I was cleaning up my garage yesturday. And, I found a few more kite bags from my early years of kiting. After dumping the bags out on my garage
floor I now know why I fly foils. I have so much fiberglass, and carbon I could make my own body armor jacket.
So here is what I found:
5 TOL Team Kites
6 TOL Spin Offs
4 TOL North Shore Radicals
2 phantoms with the beman pro graphite sparing
1 chicago fire bee
2 Fire Darts
10 6 foot flexi stackers
1 Storm
20 SpiderWings (advantage of working for manufacturer)
1 200 sq foot stunt chute
Unfortunately these kites were truely abused in my younger years. Most have blown out noses, and atleast one rip in a seam. The flexi's (a moment of
silence here please) all have had their trailing edges blown out. Most are twenty plus years old.
It was sad to see how I use to treat my gear, but the memories they brought back were great.
The chute took me back to when I first started flying for Catch The Wind Kites. The first stunt kite I flew was the stunt chute. Doug Hagaman who
was working for CTW took me to the beach for my job interview. Launch this huge kite handed me the handles and said that he would be back in 20
minutes. If I was still on the ground with the kite in the air I was hired. I was breathing heavier then the wind was blowing that day.
Sure am Glad I never let go.
Damb you Doug. R.I.P. Buddy miss ya

Sorry to say that these kites are DOA.
The sails are so badly damaged from UV rays, and just hard flying that they are best used for decorating my garage wall, which looks great now. Most of the spars are either broke in half, or have green stick
fractures.

Thats funny.
In the last week I've had both my Team & Spin Off kites out and flying with the kids!
Both still in good shape.

whats the status on those 2 phantoms? are we talking peter lynn phantoms or something else?
I have a 12m currently but may be interested in picking up a second one. let me know if you're interested in parting with one or both of them.
