Flysurfer VS Neo questions
I wonder why I never see 10m Pulse 1 kites up for sale second hand ? Are they THAT good or just rare ?
Also I am wondering about the Neo ? How does HQ compare when it comes to those little extras that protect your kite ? Does it have pound rated break
away tabs on the bridles ? Does it have blow outs ? Dirt outs ?
Any special re-inforcement on the leading edge to avoid wear ?
How about the Jet flaps ? Do they make enough diference that you would miss them on the Neo ?
How does HQ's safety compare with FDS ?
While I'm at it , does anyone know what is happening with Flysurfer and their changes to doing business in North America ? I notice Powerzone was VERY
careful to call the Edmonton rep. an " importer " rather than dealer ????
I am SO looking forward to trying one of these Neo bad boys !

there are Lots of Flysurfer dealers and reps in Canada... the US is still sorting things out.
Mike Dowey who runs Flysurfer.ca is the importer for your country and is super knowlegable with all things flysurfer.
Ken, I can arrange a demo from HQ of the Neo for the Northwest, but we'll have to figure out a date where we can all meet and get acquainted with the
Neo . you guys may have to come on down to B-ham to try it out.
email me.

Is there a good place for land flying in B'ham? Could you provide coordinates for it? Most of our flying spot is in the process of becoming a duck
pond for the winter.

The Neo has channels in the interior of the trailing edge to allow debris and water to migrate to the tips, where there are indeed-dirt outs. You
can dry out the inside of a wet kite by flying it with the dirt-outs open.
No blow outs, but when Jan Hendrick from HQ-Germany was here, he reached into the open deflation zipper and showed off the dacron tape sewn inside
tip-to-tip to give lateral reinfrorcement to the cells in the event of head-on impact.
Jan also pointed out that with the simplified bridle, it's pretty hard to bow-tie the kite. In the light puffy wind that day he rolled the kite on
the ground a couple of times and the kite always flew out without a snag.
After a dirty beach session the other day with my 11m Neo (lots of lulls and falling kite onto wet muddy sand) I gave it a thorough cleaning that
afforded me a lot of up-close time. Overall I am impressed with the construction details.

Thanks John !
I think there has been some discussion about getting a Neo up here. As Scudley and You know, the wet weather and muddy locations can be hard on kites
/ demo's. While I'm excited to try one anytime I see how Spring may be a better time for a demo ?
I find it interesting how only Flysurfer adds those great LB. rated tear aways on the bridle attachment :puzzled:. The extra cost is not very much
when compred to intalling blow outs and such! If and when I invest in a Neo I think I may add my own ???
How about the Jet Flaps ? Has anyone noticed a difference with and without them ? Jet flaps work on paper but I wonder if they work in such a way the
rider FEELS a benefit ?

Jetflaps are patented by flysurfer unfortunately, so we'll never know how they work on other kites unless the idea is morphed slightly (i guess the
venturi system is similar?)
I liked the neo, the 12m felt good but i stand by my hate for the bar and think for water it would be bad bad i'd like to give it a proper run for it's money some day though
