Help me choose a kite please

What kite would you guys recommend for the following conditions:

I live and kite on a lake..winds usually gusty can go from 15mph average to 20 gust and back down to 10..stay there for 15 seconds and back up to 20 for 5 seconds and down to 13.

Looking for something that will just hang there and wait..mostly looking for something to keep me riding and wont luff out of the sky..doesnt have to be high performance but stable and wont fall..just keep me riding..

I weigh 195lbs.

Water only or land as well ?

My 1st thought is a Peter Lynn arc ? ( stable gust muncher with auto zenith !) If you are water only then a whole lot of choices are available.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Sounds like you want an Arc ?

There are a couple for sale on here. From what I understand your best choices may be : Venom 1 or II , Scorpian or Synergy.

Arcs are not as effeceint do to the arc shape so don't be shocked at the sizes. Typically it will be 4 m larger than you might expect.

is there a big difference between a venom 1 vs venom 2 when comparing a 19m. What about a 20m bomba?

is this your first kite? If so, budget or no budget, I think you may want to start with something other than a venom or any other arc especially if you are solo launching. Typically first kites are 3m or under. Not going to get you going on water at your weight but not going to get you or a bystander killed either.

I have a Blade 4.9m and a 10.5 Ozone Frenzy that I fly regularly. Just wondering ehat advantage do I get when comparing a Bomba to Venom 1 to a Venom 2. The following choices seem to be available:

20m Bomba
19m Venom 1 or 2
16 Venom 1 or 2

IS there a big difference betwwen these kites..sounds like the Bomba can be bought relatively cheap..$150-200. 16V1 /19M V1 -350-450. and V2 up to 600

What is your weight? I have a 17m Bomba and I'm 140lbs, and I can't fly it above 15, it really starts to fly at 8 or so....so keep that in mind...

I love my Bomba, but it is an older kite, I would pick the Venoms over it, probably the 19?

Depends though, do you get higher winds as well? If you get them average 10-20 go for the 19, if its more 20-30 id say 16.

But you want an ARC for sure! :roll:

the 19m will be really slow compare to a 15/16m kite. but if you like park and ride then you will be ok.
