nice spot, there, right next to the ocean, only thing that could make it better is lots of soft sand for landings -- but then no ATB action! how big is that stretch of grass?

I love the handles on crossfires, nearly as good as ozone / flexi, and actually feel more robust...

I've had a few passersby take photos (including a couple roving newspaper photogs) and promise to email, none have yet, it's excellent your guy did!

thanks for sharing!

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

I just uploaded a Bird's Eye view of my Flying Spot. it's pretty big, but wish was bigger east to west . winds mostly blow from SSW in Summer and NNW in Winter. and on occasion from the East and thats the best. Cause i get a longer run. other than that i am pretty happy....:Ange09:

looks like a rather sudden transition from land to sea tho, you ever been yarded over the edge?

LOL ya a little scary when i first got on the ATB and was learning the curve and headed in that direction and wondering how long it would take to come to a stop. the only other people i have seen there are people with Revs and single line kites. I did run into some kid though once, that was visiting family from one of the Carolinas with a Blade. Not too friendly, didn't seem to want to be bothered. Maybe it was because i was soo excited and giddy that there was someone else with a power kite. :borg: Think i scared him off.

Ummm I would say all year round there are couple times the wind is from the west, it's not as bad as it looks in the photo but i still have some space to play. not much but still happy. I think it's because I never experienced a nice long long run. Normally i only have a chance to dip the kite into the direction i wanna go into and then back up to 12'o clock and jump. and repeat in opposite direction, every now and then going downwind and upwind LOL. M happy jumping. Also behind the Fort in the photo there is another field i use in the summer when the wind is Blowing from the South.
I use this when weddings are taking place in my regular spot in the summer.

PS the Bad wind is NW. I dunno what it is. maybe it's building messing with me. I feel a constant wind. but the kite doesn't LOL . And there is another big feild at the entrance of the park, which is useless unless the wind is blowing from the East in which case i would rather be at the regular spot cause it's bigger.

yeah, all my spots in HK are tiny, I haven't gotten myself on wheels yet, but it would be much the same, dip the kite, get moving, then it's time to turn around! Also I can only fly winds with a bit of south in them, anything from the north is unflyable, and the prevailing winds this time of year are all northerlies!

bummer about the kid ... teen flyers can be weird, I lurk on flexifoil forum a lot and the lots of the yobs there are from a different universe... some of them have mad skills tho...

I'll get on the water this spring when I go back... In canada again right now and the local flying is shut down due to weather, has been since before christmas. might clear up and stop raining mid next week!

seems the best thing about your spot is that if it's blowing, it's nearly always from the ocean and smooth!

good spot, you've been able to jump and keep learning!

take care.... fly safe....

ya you guys should come check out the spot sometime when it gets warmer. your spots might be larger and stuff. for nice long runs though. for consolation though you get a nice view of Martha's Vineyard, and Newport RI in the Distance. and in the Summer you alwats got Sailboat races that are fun to watch.:wee:

:wow: 40 - 45 minutes means a summer trip ! :wow:

For me 40 - 45 minutes means no traffic ! Even then the park is more of a lake. :ticking:

In summer it's more like, only 6 hours to Seaside !

Do you people have a clue how spoiled you are ? :wee:

NPW! man, I was thinking of what how you might take that comment just minutes after I posted, almost went back to change it... :embarrased:

I don't think that kid was typical, though... by and large I find flexiforum a pretty friendly place, it's more that they take absolutely no mercy with each other when they have differences of opinion, not like here where most folks bend over backwards to be nice... Also takes me a while to figure out some of the lingo and I know british english OK from 10 yrs in HK... I do find all the R-rated avatars crack me up!

so... sorry mate, be brilliant to meet you one of these days... :cool2:

that is 1 brilliant spot. id kill for something like that near me. i have several local beaches but my holy grail is grass on the coast!! you have that with nearly 360 wind coverage. i expect great things from you with that playground. clean wind and the added bonus of grass, you should be boosting big with all that extra grip. get some vids made mate as id like to follow your progress.

Ya man I had her out Saturday Morning. Extremly light winds. Maybe 8mph-10mph Mostly static and some small slow snail runs. I gotta be honest i am intimidated by her size. the biggest kite i ever saw was my 7m. even in those winds i had some tiny scuds. HUGE SMILE!!!! I keep thinking well if this is how she pulls in these winds, i am a scared LOL in 15mph winds. :wee: I will post up a review when i get some nice sessions on her
