*sigh* Pilgrimage to the lake today, first snowkite of the season
Well, a crew of six of us (RevPaul, deez, Wolfee, myself and two others) hit the lake today despite the possibility of a skunker of a wind day and
were treated to a fantastic day in the snow. If I'm not mistaken I'd say that I saw quite a bit of daylight under Paul's feet as he threw himself
around with his Flysurfer....and I'm not mistaken at all - it's TRUE! though I missed Wolfee slingshotting him.
I unrolled the V19, clicked into the skis and was gone for I think about 2 solid hours. The thing is amazing - ate the gusts so much I didn't even
know they were there and when my early season muscles were straining I just carved upwind, slowed to a stop and enjoyed the scenery with the kite
bobbing happily overhead while I rested. Imagine my surprise to finally come back in and see (not exaggeration) 20 kites in the air!
The thing of it though - the peace. I had forgotten how much I love the serenity of locking a kite in the wind and gliding across a lake of fluffy
white snow. I've spent the entire evening totally content and relaxed. What a great day - I love this sport!

Sounds like a touch of aoxomoxoa !
Laying back comfortably against your biggest kite and being so relaxed you can close your eyes is about as close to dreams as it gets for me !
I'm thrilled you are able to say you felt relaxed with a 19m stapped to your butt ! That alone is a break through !
Now we both have to keep working on that flying dream !!!!!!

Yesterday was great, friends and lots of kites too try but today was insane. I had the Sabre out learned all about its power today in 15 to 25 mph
winds. The lift was incredible and the float sweet, wasn't sure I was coming down...lol
Had a couple of my sons out with there friend so introduced four new people to the sport and they all left with grins on their faces and asking when
you going out again. Really starting to like the Sabre with the mods completed its a different kite.

For those of us who aren't from Edmonton, what lake are you referring to? From Google Earth, looks like you have a few sizeable lakes to select from.
And I bet you get some fetch across the prairie for the winds to build on. Sounds nice.
WolfWolfee - what are the particulars of your Sabre mods and how do they help the kite?

I will try and get the specs again from my friend in the UK, he told me the Flexi rep was going around and handing out the bridle fix and stopper
balls at one of the meets. It is added just to the one side but definitely made my tips a lot more solid.
The Lake is South Cooking it is located about 25 mile South east of the city. I prefer North west winds makes a nice haul across the lake.
Another popular lake is north east it's called Lac St Anne everyone enters at Alberta beach.
The kite festival is coming soon and should be a hoot, has been put on by the FlySurfer guys but may possibly have the HQ guys there with demo's.
It's not fair, they know we have an addiction...lol

If you find Edmonton on LocalKiteSpots.com you'll see a few fields. Just east of the city is our hallowed South Cooking Lake. If you keep going east
you'll find our dry lake which I've yet to successfully scout - it's Beaverhill Lake.
