santa barbara

hey guys anybody ever ride in santa barbara? Im headed there in march and am planning on hauling my gear down. last year I met a few locals who said ledbetter beach got some good thermal action if it was warm enough, but im questioning if this is going to be working in march. Anybody have any thoughts?

I'll be taking my 17m arrow and probably a door cus I know its pretty light down there

Has some excellent spots nearby, march will be right on the edge of the season but you'll definitely get some good days, april and may are awesome months in the area. Remember you have pismo just up the road and oxnard just down the road both with really good riding. Pismo is super easy to ride at. I've not ridden in santa barbara itself but it should be decent cross shore. Nice waves. Have fun steve! Its possible i might be in the area in march as well in which case we'll try and get together

Mood: ready to buggy

I grew up in santa barbara and every time I go to visit I am disapointed by the lack of good wind. If you do get wind the beach is not good to buggy on because it does not have a wide tide range. you are much better off going to pismo but last I checked they had banned on shore kite sports at pismo. There is a hill on top of ellings park in SB that is a great place to fly, it is where the paragliders take off from. It is good to fly at but not smooth or flat so buggying is pretty difficult there. I would bring a kite or two, but dont bother with the buggy. Oh, looks like you have boards, might as well bring one, not too big.
