Yesterday at the lake another guy showed up with Rasta 12.5M Sabre II. The winds were 10 to about 17 miles not real gusty but there, more direction changing then speed. I was kind of wondering who he was as never got a chance to talk to him. Don't know his skill level but he seemed to be struggling with it.
The other big thing was definitely speed, the 9.5M was kicS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n it's butt. You would think with that extra sail in the air he'd been leaving me behind, mind you a lot of kites out there much larger and the 9.5M held its own for sure. I just got my bridle straightened up and it's made an incredible difference.
I haven't had the chance to fly the Sabre II but am really getting into my Sabre now with the mods done.
So, is the Sabre II slower. I hear they have more lift but I can't complain on the Sabre 1 at 245 lbs it lift me like a baby.
Myself have found the Sabre will really crawl out front and pull, and the lift comes on sweet not like the old blade and bullet ripping your arms off...lol

So anyone with Sabre II experience , please fill me in.

Like with a lot of things it isn't just the size.

There were quite a few icefishermen out on my lake today. They'd just tell you...

I would definitely say experience played a part. I was at Cooking Lake with the owner of the Sabre II, and it was only our 4th or 5th time on the snow with our kites, and I think his third flight with the Sabre. We had a great time though, but so much to learn! I finally learned to go upwind decently, and considered it an accomplishment to end up in the same spot I started. Couldn't ask for a more perfect day either. I look forward to meeting more Edmonton kiters!
