Maine kiting locations?

I am an experienced kiteboarder from Florida and want to try snowkiting. I will be in the Portland-Brunwswick, Maine area next week for about 5 days.

Are there any good spots to kite in that area? Are the conditions decent now? I thought I'd bring an inflatable 9 meter (Slingshot T2) and a couple of HQ foils (5 meter Scout and 3.6 meter Beamer). Sound adequate?

Thanks for the input.

Kite selection sounds good. Sebago Lake is the only kite spot that I know of in Maine and I've never been there so don't have the specifics.

Long Lake is also popular. Go to powerlinesports.com and post there as there since some of the haunts at that site are from NH and ME and don't post here.

There's still plenty of ice around

Thanks for the input. I'll be packing the woolies!

(By the way, kiting is pretty good in FL this time of year. I've had 2 good sessions this week on a 14m. Air temps in the high 70's, and the water's not bad. You can kite comfortably in a shortie wetsuit or a steamer top and board shorts. Come on down.)

things are good in ME...

Presque Isle is one hell of a great place...fields everywhere....Moose Head Lake if you are adventurous as there is very little ladgeing and peple up there...in fact ther are more moose,...also western ME has great fields as well that are covered in about 3 feet of snow....sluch and rain in the forecast though......2/25/09....for the weekend..

Go get it!
