Grad School + Kiting

Im in the process of choosing a graduate program. Now, im not gonna base my decision solely on kite-ability but I figure if Im gonna be tied down somewhere for the next 3-5yrs there better be some decent buggying or kiteskiing available. ;)

So here is the list of possible locations:

Corvallis OR
Berkeley CA
Burlington VT
Amherst MA
Cambridge MA
Storrs CT

Anyone have decent luck at beaches/ fields near these spots? Are any of these flat out terrible (ie. have to drive 2hrs before finding decent spots) ?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
McKGyver

depending on what you are planning on studying, you might consider montana state in Bozeman- lots of big snowy fields in the winter :)

I went to University of Guam :wee: Lots of places to kite, surf, climb etc. Had the most fun of my life on Guam and my one and only regret in life is moving back to Florida.

Corvallis is only one hour from the beaches here in Newport. Great beaches for miles, and at times plenty of horses to run over at South Beach

Oh, and OSU has plenty of open practice fields.

Priorities...
Yeah, these days I have found that kiting is the key to unlocking my full productivity. (Funny how a couple good sessions can keep me focused).

Im finishing up my BA in mechanical engineering, and Im trying to set up my next move towards a PhD mechatronics (basically where I can use all of my skills in mechanical/electrical engineering and control theory). If your interested, ive got tons of cool stuff on my site http://mckgyver.pbwiki.com

From Berkeley you have Ocean Beach in SF for kitesurfing and buggying, Alameda for kitesurfing, Tahoe for kiteskiing and of course the sod farm for buggying in Davis when there is wind.
