Twinskin buggying

So I am sure that there are a number of you that already know this, but I want to reinforce that buggying with Peter Lynn's and Flysurfers is an awesome experience that should not be missed, should the opportunity arise.

Conditions were ok... wind was blowing around 12, with high gust around 15 (ah... thats why I moved to the beach), onshore winds, slightly rough terrain.

This was the first time I flew the Venom 13m, after I got used to it, I sat down and went for some speed in the bug... Top speed around 30mph with the Venom. Smooth power delivery, no jerkiness, extremely well behaved kite. Was very impressed with the turning speed of the kite. When I pulled the bar in, it was almost as I had thought it would feel, just a wee bit of nitro, in higher winds, I am sure the feeling would intensify.

Then thought I would try the Pulse 7m on in the same conditions. I hadnt flown it since I almost cut it in half on some rebar at a lake near Austin (great job on the fix, powerzone). I was amazed to feel more power out of the 7m than the 13m... I know they are different types of kite and all, but I got the 13m to fill the 10m gap in FS'ers, so my 7m feeling more powerful threw me off a bit. I think I may be confusing grunt with power... hard to say for sure- I am no expert.

But I swear I was going just as fast with the 7m pulse as the 13m venom. Anyhow.... it was an awesome day. New Personal Record 29.2 mph.

They are cleaning up East beach for anyone that may be planning to visit Galveston... San Luis Pass is probably in better shape for kiting.

Met a guy from Kansas, today, too. Cool how whenever you see another kiter, there is instant friendship.

Happy Kiting.

It is awesome...I've been out most days since I learned....I moved to the beach for windsurfing and now I have something to do with all that sand...I had runs from the water to soft cushioned sand(not loose) and back...it made the best of a sideshore wind. I say cushioned because the bar is under at high tide...so cool to be riding in a no-mans -land!!! I could have used the 4.7, but I like the 3.5 cause I can get it more out of position and thus try stuff without getting yanked out or go to KK. I rode into darkness with the moon and Venus and the stars...nobody out! I can't get enough.
Also cool...another local, Laura set up her never flown Scout 5.0...nice!
