A reason to always use room code !

I just found out from a buddy that a site has booking's for BB. at ridiculous rates :singing: I'm wondering if anyone has informed the crew or Dean, Remember, the rate's adjust to what ever site offers a discount. we still get "The Cheapest" rate's. I'm posting another video for all to see before event .....look for yourself in video if you were there last year ..See you all soon ...get there safely ! Terry aka Cr@sh !

low room rates

Terry,
tripres.com had rates for the weekdays of 6.00 per night, but friday night was 99.
When you add it up, the old deal is probably the same.
Jason.
See ya there...............

That's why I said no biggy, My wife spends more on a ticket to japan, compared to my entire trip expense. I'd rather book with NABX group rates as a "LOYAL" diehard's that we are right ! I need a second home there or a time share ,now's a good time to buy as I hear all around the airport, has a lot of foreclosures. Jason,I got word Glenn P won't make it this year .so it looks like I'm paling with you on the safety meetings. :wee: :bigok:

Thanks Crash.

If you book without using the room code, it penalizes the group.

Yup. So, say you save a few bucks. We will have to increase the entrants fee if this practice spreads.

We've done pretty well. The hotel treats us a little better each year, but only if we show the number of people we REALLY bring in.

It's like this. Right now, we are only showing about one third the number we have registered for the event.

This proves that not everyone uses the room codes. This means, little if any clout to 'fix' problems with the hotel when they occur.

No reduction in staff rates, no comps.

Why do we need comps? Well believe it or not, a bunch of people put on the event, and we usually put them all in a big room. Every now and then we bring in guests from far away, and put them in rooms, if we have to pay for these rooms, we just can't do it.

Our budget, thanks to sponsors has increased to almost $7,000.00 almost! Now if you figure out the tent rental, the port a potties, the food, the insurance, the t-shirts the office expense, the liability, the incidentals, well you will see that the budget is gone, and quick. We also rent a storage facility which i wish some of you would use(we will let you!)since we can no longer carry everything we use each year on the plane. I could go on, but you get the picture. In general, we break even, if we don't we use the money for next year to pay ahead, which gives us a tiny bit of break on some things if we pay first.

Claxton handles the dough. I don't touch it, and if you think i can get any(or anyone else can)from Claxton, go talk to him, and see if you can get a better deal on a shirt, that ought to put your mind to rest on how we handle the money, he is a pit bull!

Scott Skinner(Drachen, AKA, etc)is our top advisor. He knows business and keeps our rudder straight and narrow.

Jose Sainz(Coyote, AKA, Best Dressed, etc.)is our entertainment advisor. Nuff said.

Fran Gramkowski is still involved and we communicate often.

Scooter is the head Chef, Mike Jura may be back this year, we'll see.

We also have a bunch of people behind the scenes helping, some you know, most you don't as they keep a low profile.

Blake Pelton

Slawek Krauze

Rob Vreeland

Chip Brown

George Brown

It's a big team, and all of us spend money of our own to make this happen. No complaint, we love to do it, but of course would like to spend less if possible.

Then there's you. You are why we do it, otherwise we'd just invite each other, and be done.

Last year was the first year we were able to comp one room, for one week. Not very impressive by any standards.

If you use the room code, you help us help you(five minutes!)to help ourselves!

So, help your friends understand, we do this for us, for you, for each other. We are not ATT or the BORG, we all work just like you, and need all the little bits to come together to make the event pop, and crackle.

Use the room code, every year, every chance you get.

We promise we will get you the lowest rate possible!

Thanks Crash!

I can see how the number of rooms booked would be a smaller percentage than the registered #.

Some camp on the lake, I know some are staying in Vegas ( it keeps the wives happy ) and many are bunking 2-3 to a room.

I expect this is the case most years !

I am shocked that you can do all you do on a $7,000 budget.
You all do a great job and I'ld like to thank you ahead of time !

P.S. I registerd and booked under the code long ago ! :wee:

All the emails I receive regarding booking any of the events from friends, has me thinking about why I register strictly with NABX and past SBBB. As Dean mentioned, there's reason's we need to represent as a group, I feel supporting a growing sport and event like NABX has gotten bigger each year . Thanks to the wonderful staff that welcomed me years ago can tell you........only once a year we get to enjoy this great thing we call Extreme sports, with special, if not the best from around the world . The locals can show you a thing or two but always remember , to have the biggest "Bash" each year take's your support using the code and even having a blast with raffles, auctions and purchasing all the cool stuff to take home. My T- shirt collection speaks for itself . the more you support and encourage newcomers, each NABX Blast will be more exciting than the last . :bigok: Thanks Dean! sad that a third have not registerd with NABX code. after hearing that ,I will now explain to anyone intending not to.

Thank you folks, that's why this happens.

In regards to the numbers, it still does not make sense, we're pretty sure more people stay in the casino's than use the room code. If we could get everyone to use the room code, in the long run, we will always get the lowest rate, but to do that, we have to show our impact.

It's a chicken/egg thing. Once we show the impact, we have the clout.

We're getting there though! Three years ago we barely had 25 rooms a night! We were unable to comp even a single night!

Oh, and i just saw the t-shirt design. Chip and i have been working on it(i have big ideas, Chip does the work)and i have to say it's a smoker!

Can't wait to be rolling on the playa, see you all soon, some sooner than others!

What! $7K... that's it? How the heck can you do what you do for just $7K. I'm blown away. I know what it takes to run events "on-the-cheap" (both large and small) and now I'm even more impressed with you guys.

Thanks for everything you do. Anything you need, you have but to ask.

Shoot, when we started it was $5,000! and i'm not sure how we did it. I think we just did it and didn't worry about it.

Still, we are still growing, and we learn more each year, and hopefully improve each year!

Thanks for the support!

screwy its in your email. needs to go to Dean, follow the directions to a tee. I know he is getting irritated by other garbage being sent along with the emails to him.

Hit reply.

Write the name you used to check in with, one line.

Your room code, one line.

How many nights, last line.
