3 new 10m kites to try out and no wind
Just got an email from Solaris that her package from the Ukraine arrived. In it are three models new to North America: an as yet unnamed 10m depower
with an A/R of 6:1; a 10m Wave, a closed cell, depower, water foil; and a 10m Racer, a 7:1 A/R foil on handles. I have the day off.:wee:
The wind speed 4 effing knots , at least it is not raining.

its windy in richmond, it shouldnt need that much wind if its a 10m, plus G.P. is too small for race kites. its 10knots right now from the South.
are those AR numbers flat or projected? everything sounds big when you use the flat size. projected is the better size to use.

The wind slowed down soon after I arrived in Richmond. At times less than 4 kmph, wind turbine stopped. I only flew the Madagascar today. The Racer
and Wave will have to wait for another day. Madagascar was pretty nice. I was having a good time with what I was flying, so I did not want to stop
to change kites.
Garry Point is pretty small, but I have seen Yakuza, RM+, Nitro, 13m Pulses and the like flown there. The field is really too small to give justice
to the kite. A few quick pumps on the bar to start getting some speed and power, it was time to turn. And that was in wind well below ideal. I can
hardlly wait to try it out on a big space. I did not have my GPS, but Edward thought I was going pretty fast. I took at least one tour of the
remaining puddles because I was dragged sideways across some very slick mud.
Edward and Dennis both took some video. If they upload it I will put the links here.
I do not have enough Ukrainian to ask whether it is projected or flat, but those numbers are pretty high even for flat. Dennis and I unpacked the
Racer at their house. It is very long and very thin.
I imagine the Madagascar and Racer will go to NABX. The Wave will probably stay in Vancouver as I do not see there being much use for a waterfoil in
Primm.
All in all, a damn fine day.

I am amazed you will take 2 new ones down. I thought maybe the Alasca and the race kite ? There is more than one reason for the " bag your kite "as
soon as it's down rule. I learned that the hard way last year. The dust gets in them in no time but when they are up in the sky they don't pick much
up. Be sure you get them zipped up in the bag and in the trunk A.S.A.P.
You saw poor "Pinky " after the trip last year ! Same with my As new ( before ) Pulse.
Do they all have that fantastic screen on the inlets ? Same / what's it called " / slick material ?

The Racer is not really a new kite. It was a prototype that had a tendency to try to turn itself inside out when you turn it. Edward and I asked for
it to see if we can fly it.
The Racer and the Madagascar have the screen overt the inlets. I have not opened the Wave yet. I am not sure if they are still using Gelvenor, but
the material is certainly slick and crispy. It feels heavier than the material on my Vampir Race Pro.
The bar for the Madagascar is from Slingshot. It is much beefier than the ozone bar that came with the Alasca. The releases are little less likely
to trip accidentally, but possibly harder to activate when you need it.

Fabric: The internals are still Gelvenor. The skin fabrics are from a French company, Sofiletta.
