Nice pics and location. I thought Jekyll was wide open - that looks like a huge beach!

Nice pics Johnny! That beach looks like those over in the UK. Just go any direction you want. Is the sand really hard like Jekyll?

yep. There are softer spots in the center of the bar, but that just adds to the fun...I like to scream in and float--it's smooth but softer...gotta have wide tires! We had three points of sail we could work along the ocean's edge...not counting running in the trough next to the "pond"...I love this place! Goin again today after work!

I might've asked this before, but is there public access or is St. Simons private ownership everywhere? Do I have to "know somebody"? Hehe, I just happen to know someone there now.

Very nice location with hard packed sand! I'm surprised St. Simons is only just across from Jekyll as extra place to ride nearby :tumble:

St. Simons is just to the north of Jekyll and is VERY PUBLIC, which is the only problem vis a vis kiting and the buggy. Pretty soon it won't be usable until next fall/ winter.

The sand bar that Johnny speaks of is at East Beach and is new this year and won't show in any google images, but it does offer some points of sail that Jekyll does not.

yes, but the tourists generally go to dinner and whatever and leave the beach to locals after 5...

exactly! amateurs go out when it's too hot and have to run when the sea breeze and sunset sailing is on.
