Waist Harness Proper Usage (DaKine Pyro in Particular)

So I have been using my waist harness for a little while now and I dont' think I'm setting it up correct. Yesterday I went for a AWESOME 3-4 hour snowkiting session and it rode up on me to where it felt like a freaking corset.

I'm wondering if you guys have any tips to putting on your harness? It's kind of one of those things that you HAVE to make sure it's on correct before you launch, otherwise, it's land and adjust.

Also, if anyone has the dakin pyro harness how do you tighten the spreader bar/pad to where it doesn't have lots of space once the kite is pulling, in between the harness and the pad? I can't seem to tighten it as tight as I have my harness. Maybe I"m hooking it wrong?
