next level
my ATB is tattered and tired.
coyotes are in the top of the rotation
did a sunset session about 1.5 hours rigged with the P15
i think i'm on my 6th session with these things
light wind @12-15mph scored a few choice jumps height somewhere around 8ft and float out about 60 ft. i can clearly see over and past the dunes+sea
oats. maybe even higher
some smoking hot down loop turns and snappy switches and 4-5 foot trans airs .
front side to backside pop with a jump
jump/ trans. air both directions forwards and backwards
the landings are much softer than on the ATB esp. on the transitions. although my redirect on the ATB is sometimes harder. i think a loop will fill
in better for the blades IF I HAD MY V13 i would've probably already done it. i can loop the phantom on the water but it won't come around in lower
winds on land and i need it higher in the window.
AHHH fallin' in love
i know they'll be junk in a few months so i'll play as long as they last. i feel the plastic rims are a weak point(ALUMINUM would be choice) the
tires ..they 'll be the first to go....just a matter of hours, fresh they may be now, but looks to be maybe 50-100hours and they 'll be an issue.
so by june i'll need new junk , probably will go to the doom set by default they have crappy bearings that may last maybe 20hours which is about 2
weeks.... that show will be short
any way today ... we'll see what the flow brings us

For the use/abuse you give your equipment and the hours that you put in with them, you should have the best top/drawer ATB out there. Your skills and
time spent would extract everything the equipment has to give.
You also ought to make a thread that is your own little blog of your daily exploits. I know there are others that would be just as interested as me
to hear your condition/equipment used/accomplishments big and small. You stand out here with your time spent, and deep familiarity with your
equipment, so I know lots of us could learn from whatever you share with us. Keep the flow flowing.

thanks bob, consumption data, i consume fun things. def have the info in my head
the style that is coming out these things fairly light and smooth but down wind switching runs can really heat the tires up. i have no idea what it
looks like from view but feels cool if I HAD A V13 or quicker kite it would be even better.
the skates have few moving parts and that's a good sign. even the brake is coming off it's just in they way. some booth articulation points will
show trouble but that's just custom seasoning in bloom
the bearing show is always in effect but i am making a point to keep them dry
the top draw stuff is nice but very light ..that it's feature. light is good for swing weight and quickness and ease of handling in flight.
time on top self just makes for $$$junk in the end. i hate ruining nice things but when you don't have many items to spread the load out on ,
something gonna get abused
the ATB "board" is tough absolute, maple lam. MBS 16 CORE. trucks go to junk <1yr. i'm sure there are better,
moving parts are doomed.
skate truck style are far better esp. if you like it super loose
it's a total exchange of wear at pressure points
-stiff stuff you smoke the tires and eventually the bearings
-loose stuff eats the trucks
-gotta balance rigidity or breakage arrives quick
-too soft you loose performance and wears quick
anyway the only things holding solid... PL kites and me.... everything in between is ground into oblivion.
i am sure as my style lightens for the skates things should more mileage, hopefully

I have been talking with Screwyfits about Him fabricating a set of Alum' rims for me. I agree that they are the weakest link and I have had failures.
I'll mention that He may want to pop off a second set for You or someone else.
I have a link to tires and tubes.
My bearings have seizes up after forgetting to wash them after a salt water session. Once they were forced to roll they actually loosened up again !
My Coyotes are coming on to 2 years old now. I bought a back up set from Ebay because I agree that the life of the whole system is limited. Big shout
out to Rollerblade though these things ARE TOUGH !!!! Pity they quit making them .
As far as I know NOBODY on EARTH has jumped 8ft high and 60ft.
Chad is going places that NO MAN has ever gone before. :wow:
How cool is THAT in this day and age !!!! :wee:
P.S. inspect your Frames each time out. I bit cracked off of mine !

couple more coyotes sessions
yesterday , did a 10mile down winder on the water then rest for WILD E. COYOTE AIR SHOW for 2hours.
wind has been around 12-15 but find myself wanting more .
15+ is when things flow a little better kite gets around better and i'm not waiting on the rig so much
the jumps are cool but the whipping down wind power slides are deluxe the sand spray fans just like water about two feet high, then pop over and do
it the other direction .
loop turn and then back for a jump yields nice float out with decent height .. this is where the loop at the top of the jump would fit nicely to keep
the kite out in front more. the skates will reach up wind nicely ,,did a 2 mile upwind run with about 50-60 trans. the balancing edge is narrow
so even head position in the slightest will affect the upwind line and rig position.
some neat nuances are coming out lending to more things to come and conditions tolerance for rides in higher winds
at 20 mph the P15 is at its best but a quicker turning/ lifty rig like A V13 (that hopefully comes to me soon) may prove better
i'm sticking to the coyotes the ATB(i have completely forgot about it) is rusting in the back of the truck

Have you found a top end for your phanny yet? I haven't had much chance to explore its boundaries yet. I've had limited winds every chance I've had
to fly it. I figured high teens and lower 20's would be well powered. I'll have to make sure I can still stay in the buggy seat though.

I know exactly what you mean about the power slides as my avatar shows :wee:
It is good and bad though ! I can't hold down as much power on the hard pack like that as I can on good turf or the Playa. It is also nice that you
slide out a bit when missing a landing or landing hot.
Someone better take a video camera to Jibe 'cause I want to see a video of you going BIG on those old dogs !

I think you can google the nijdam site, or other (prob. Euro) distributors for more sizes - or just send the ebay seller a question.

BOB, the P15 can be a monster over 25mph
20mph is incredible
but all day fun in 12-15MPH
for safety in higher winds i will go to the water. in higher winds it dosen't like to be snatched around unless kept FULL ON. which is ok when
running on water .. unless its dead on shore with plenty of space.
be careful

Thanks Phree. I'll keep that girl in the bag above 20 then. I haven't been sure what its limits were hearing you talking about 13m venoms in 40 mph
winds. 20 sounds like it could be my limit with the phanny though. You coming to JIBE so I can pick your brain a little?

JIBE is on the calender. i(maybe the family as well) should get 2 days.
P15 is a fantastic kite the air cradle it produces in 15-20 is rock solid, it's turn speed and lift/power band are smooth and steady make for easy
timing felt through the bar.

hey mel, V13 in about 12mph, shore breeze is finally rotating in. i have been run off by lighting several times already, friday a huge nasty cell
dropped in with lots of sparks. went to Charleston area over the weekend they definitely get a few more knots there. that's a great spot ride
