anyone want to go to white lake outside of Reno, NV?

I am not sure where to go for a good forcast of this area.

With ocean beach off limits we need to go somewhere.

I seem to remember that maybe Doug had a forecast site for here. He seems to be in hiding right now. I think he needs some good winds to remind him why he likes to do this so much ;-) I'm sure he is super bummed about OB too.

If we could do a Monday and/or Tuesday I'd be all for it!

it is not dry year round, but right now a large portion of it should be dry.
I would have to go on a sat or sunday.
when we want to know if there is water on the lake we look up the number of a local gas station/ pizza parlor, etc and call to ask them if there is water on the lake.

Not sure if this helps or not, but I believe there is a Chevron right across the street (by the parking area) that has a view of white lake. It would be on the Northern side of the lake exit. You might be able to get someone to look out the window and get conditions. The last time I drove by the lake it was full of cows.

I am not hiding - just observing from afar. I use Reno as a resource for wind and weather projections. Nothing to do about the cows - the owner let's the cows graze around the perimeter of the lake. Too bad about Ocean Beach - truth be told the way we were pushing it there it was just a matter of time before someone put their foot down. The dog and baby show was getting too chaotic - beautiful place but way too risky for liability. I can't take down the videos for Ocean Beach because my computer took a complete dump last week and I'm writting this on my iphone. This weekend looks a little tame out at white lake 8 to 11mph. Just a matter of time and patience.
