Question about the HQ TSR

Can anyone tell me about the HQ TSR line

I have a friend who will sell me his HQ TSR 5M for 150 bucks. He dosen't kow much about it either. He bought this as his first kite and got hurt his first time out so he is done flying.

I don't know anything about any kites of ther than 2m HQ Beamer. I am still learning, but this seemed like a good deal so I figure I will start to fill the quiver on good deals for future use.

Any help or advice would be great.

The HQ Beamer TSR is a great kite and was one of the best selling lines. It was replaced last year with the Scout.

Grab that deal for $150 - it is worth more. If you have been flying your 2m Beamer then you already know that 5m is a lot, and your friends experience bears that out. It is not the first time we have heard such a tale here and should serve as a cautionary example to others on this forum who are looking for a 5m + kite for their first kite.

The TSR is on a bar, obviously. It comes with a "D-loop" strap that is used to hook into a harness, but save that for later. Flying on a bar is straightforward enough. You will notice that you give up the granular control over the brakes that you have with separate handles, but you can fly this kite on your Beamer handles as well, if you like.

Start out in winds about 8 mph if you can, and nothing over 10 until you are more comfortable with it.

Some of the best deals out there are on 5m kites people bought and then hurt themselves with right off !

I can never figure it out ..... You think your tough enough to go to a big kite with no skill and then turn in to a wuss and never fly again because it hurts you ?

I guess that's just Darwin helping us keep those folks out of the sport ?

Great deal. Buy it and you will easily get your money back if you decide that you don't like it or that its too much kite for you.
