You may remember I brought my first kite the Beamer 3 a few weeks ago. I've had it out a few times in the few weeks I've had it but there has not been
much wind. The kite is really easy to fly, and took me about 10 minutes to control it well after adjusting the break lines. I used to fly a small
stunt kite as a kid so the feel of turning the kite is the similar. My friends took about an hour to manage to keep the kite in the sky as it's their
first time flying one. The biggest learning curve was keeping the lines untangled!
Well, the other day the wind was upto 15-20MPH and wow, it was fun!
I was scudding all over the place. Being pulled half way across the field on my belly, jogging bottoms yanked down to my ankles (no draw string) ,
big smile on my face. and even getting a little hangtime when I jumped. Lucky it wasn't a popular dog walking spot as I'm sure I'd got covered in dog
crap. Need to develop those forearms quickly because they really were killing after 3 hours. Waiting for a bit of extra cash for a buggy and then
inevitably the bigger kites :D
Iits really good exercise for my dog aswell, as he constantly chases the kite, however the constant barking gives me a headache.
I drove around the coast of the lake for 2 hours tonight hoping that maybe just maybe I could find a spot with enough wind for just five minutes dear
god please :wee:
Dan, I'm with ya buddy! except we taped it and posted it to prove to my brothers that I'm nutz! We still can't wipe the smile off our faces! These
things are a blast.. brings out the kid in you !
Ah man, you beat me to the "Ghetto Sled" concept. :wow:
Except mine is a huge, steerable, Rubbermaid snowsled from Goodwill (in lovely, deep purple and green colors! :o).
I was thinking of fitting 2 liter bottle plastic shielding to the puffy, plastic "rails" and trying it on grass or sand.
If you don't try it you can always send it my way and i got some young guys out here that are willin' to try anything! LOL! That sounds like a
production vehicle to us! :singing:
That. I'm more scared than excited look ! That feeling is a big part of the addiction !
Who would have though grown men can have such fun! At some point you will want to start wearing a helmet. The odds of banging your head are HUGE in
this sport.
