Strops??
Just wondering if using a strop is the norm or not. Pros, Cons.
Thanks

Only the norm if you wear a harness :wink2:
For static flying they aren't needed.
For newer fliers they aren't recommended.
If you want to extend your riding session they are a tremendous aid.

Pro- wayyyy less work- your harness holds the kite, not your arms
Con- Requires some patience to set up correctly, quite dangerous for less experienced flyers.
I only recently started flying with a strop/harness and kites that made me tired before don't now, but now they scare me a little because now I am
tied to them. I am still getting used to the QR/safety set up, but every time I fly, I bail out at least once just to get a feel for how to do it.
Practice for emergency situations and be careful.
Aim low. Reach your goals, and avoid disappointment.

Saw an instructional video where the guy was using one on his handles, no harness, for some "how to" segments on a ball field.
Must just leave the strop on all the time.
Thanks for clearing that up for the newbie.

They keep you honest. Ever see the noob flailing his/her arms around while flying? One bad habit you won't pick up if you leave the strops on.
