I am a complete idiot!!! and Hello

Hello I am new to the site and kind of new to the sport.

So I took my brand new Scout 3 out in the backyard today and put it in a tree. I bought it yesterday. I got it out of the tree, however, I ripped the bridal off of the kite at the innermost line on the trailing end. When i say rip i mean that the line and loop came off and the kite is ripped all the way through at the seem.

My question is can this be repaired or am I out of luck.

I think I may have just learned a very expensive lesson. Any help would be great

John I have a kite in the shop right now. Their website is fixmykite.com The company is called prokitesurf. I haven't' seen the work on my kite but they said it came out very well. Mine ships out today. They can probably fix your kite for less than $30. Take a look at their site.

John at Powerzone is very well mentioned here on the forum as well. He is "powerzone" here on the forum.

Welcome.
Sounds like a simple repair. I have sewn bridle loops back in and closed open seams, but if the fabric around the seam is torn then it gets more complicated. That's when I send to powerzone. He's done two of mine.

Welcome to the wonderful world of kite fun.
You fly your kite in the backyard? You must have a lot of room or your lines are to long, LOL
I use a kite repair company in Oregon at www.airtimekite.com
I landed my kite on a log at the beach that was smoldering from a beach fire the nite before and they did a great job fixing all the burn holes, $152.00 for 8 patches was cheeper than $1200.00 for a new kite

worlds only AQR that works.

I am not near a kite repair place at all and I took mine to a sale maker who did a very good job. He has since done a few others as well it is nice as I once went from the beach to him and back to the beach before the wind changed! That is another option for you depending on where you maybe. Welcome, I think everybody has damaged a kite here and there.

Snobdr I will try to get those pics for you in the next day or so.
