I put one on my kiteskates years ago, but they are nearly impossible to calibrate with such small wheels. Better to use a GPS. They are relatively inexpensive and off more data than a speedo.

Well, I admit I don't have a lot of experience with them so I hope someoone else chimes in soon. I think you should be able to find one at your local electroincs store.

Did a quick search online and found this one:

Looks nice enough, but I think there are some things you need to consider before buying online - like your location. This one is set up for N. America and Europe.

There are many people using GPS while buggying these days. Hopefully we can hear from one of them regarding their favorite brand.

On line is your best bet, you should also visit your local hunting/fishing store, they may have something for you. I mounted one on my buggy not to long ago, velcro and everything, so I can take it anywhere just to play with it.

F2 GPS Speed

Breaking the Speed Limit. And with the new F2 GPS Speed board, you can prove it. Everyone wants to be the fastest on the water, but how fast can you really go? And what is the sailing distance? The new F2 GPS has the answers. This is the first ever board designed with an inbuilt GPS system. The big 14x12cm display screen is located just behind the mast and gives you five different read outs. You can choose between time or distance and maximum or average speed. The GPS module can be synchronised with a docking station to your PC and you can analyse all the data graphically or numerically following your sail.

Could it be fitted between straps? Sunk down into the deck....could probably be done DIY styley...

Get a Garmin Etrex. Pretty inexpensive and easy to use.
