What?

Hi All.

I found this in one of the other forums and was wondering if this was real or BS. Stormboarding would like to say a big congrats and holy speed to Chris Krug for reaching 73.5mph during this last month of riding. He did it on a Peter Lynn Synergy 12m on a big day with his well-tuned skis. Since Chris had the top spot a few years ago and when Joe Levins reached the 70.0mph milestone last spring, he has been looking for the right conditions to put the hammer down. And he did. What is especially impressive about his speed is that he not only reached 73.5mph for his max but did several runs of over 100’ at over 70mph.

See Chris’ tracks from the day as well as the GPS info. Chris will get to choose his prize from a selection from our generous partners.

We also would like to send a nice run to Tom Reynolds in Utah for winning the final individual week of the contest this year. He rode 53.1mph on skis and will be able to keep track of the wind with an Ozone wind sock. Check out an amazing sight of Skyline on April 29th. Looks like the middle of winter (and a good day for Tom to get a personal best).

Since this is our final speed report for the season, we would like to say a huge thank you to:

--Slingshot, Ozone, HQ and Dynafit for their generous support of this contest. They helped us out with everything from wind socks to t-shirts, caps and wallets so speedy riders can have a little treat for their impressive efforts
--all of YOU snowkiters who, wherever you ride, put a GPS in your pocket, found your digital cameras, wrestled with the software and submitted your speeds. It is great for us to see you all improve as well as to see and share your photos and hear your stories.

We hope everyone had a great season on the snow, is looking forward to a great season on the water and joins us again as we rev up at the end of the year for the next season of the Stormboarding Snowkite Speed Ranking Contest.

See the whole list and all the photos and info at: http://www.stormboarding.com/speedranking0809.html

I just started kite skiing 2 yrs ago and I can't imagine going 73mph on a kite.
