i really like my 2.5... it has a great wind range. I can get moving in 12 and fly safely up to 30. Also reccomend getting the flexifoil AAA kit (angle of attack adjuster). Breaths new life into the kite at moderate winds and greatly improves up wind performance .

You can certainly scud... I'm 215 and it'll move me 2ft in a pass at the low end. By the time the wind hits about 18 I'll pull me 10+ft.

I would not jump in this. The rage was designed to have very little lift so it's ideal for buggy or beginner. The kite is also small so it has no float. Once you get air borne, float is what lets you down gently. Generally kites over 5m will have some float. My Montata 5m has some float but I wouldn't jump in this either. The blaze 7m has just enough float for me to feel comfortable.

The 2.5 rage (and even my 3.5 rage) will drop you like a rock after it lifts you. I've only 1ce let my 2.5 rage get me air born; not by choice, and i popped the bursa in my knee. This was over a year ago and it's still bothering me. Wind was about 23ish and i was standing a little to upright and it just threw me like a baseball. Yes, I'm 215.

You can scud on dry grass, wet grass, dirt, anything that offers less than perfect traction. With slick shoes you could technically scud on asphalt, but I wouldn't recommend it.
