Synergy recomendation
I was looking at trying a PL Synergy and was wondering what size would be comparable to a 12m FS Pulse2 (ie i'm not sure if they generate more, less
or similar power)

think i may have found the answer to my own question
projected area of Synergy 15m = 9.2m
projected area of Pulse2 12m = 10.3
in reality is a syn 15m comparable to a pulse 12m?

go with a 15m for the windrange. you can fly it in lower winds than the 12m but when it gets neare the upper windrange you can tigthen all the straps
and go a bit further.
not to forget that Arcs are great gust busters too, they curve in and soak up the gusts.

I had a Venom II 13 and a Pulse 2 12 out the other day side by side and they were similar but the Pulse definitely had more grunt while the Venom
turned faster. I'd think the Synergy 15 and the Pulse 12 would be very close.

I got my 1st go on my new Syn 15m yesterday!
The wind was very light. TOO light !
Comparing it to my 13m Psycho III and a 13m Pulse I would say it is hard to compare.
The 2 kite fly VERY different. The Syn turned amazingly fast and begged to be spanked. The more you spanked her the better she behaved. In those winds
it was producing it's power by it's own speed.
The F.S. kites didn't react as fast and liked more of a park + fly style
The wind yesterday was below 8mph . Too low a wind for either kite. I look forward to seeing the other end of the scale! My 13m had limited range ,
being small and wimpy. I have a strong feeling I can hold the 15m Syn down in a larger wind range ?
Rip' is going to bring in a 24m to see if it will perform in our typical low winds!:wee:
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

I've looked that 24 over with a wary eye. I have the same light winds almost all the time. That 24 is going to have very limited range but it would
probably be great in its element. I'd love for a flier to try one out and let us know what the real range is.

would having a 10m pulse2 and 15m synergy be redundant or would they compliment each other. i notice they have very close projected areas

I think they are similar in power but very different in how it is produced / feels.
The Pulse will feel a bit more bow like. The Syn' more C like. For me it is the auto zenith and gust munching on the arcs that has me won over !
I also think I may be finding I get a bigger range on an arc as well ?

"The Pulse will feel a bit more bow like. The Syn' more C like."
could you try to describe that in words lol. i've never flown a PL kite
I currently have 10m and 12m pulse2's and was curious if a 15m Syn could feasibly replace both (seems like its sitting in between the power of the
10m and 12m pulse2).

When I suggest a " C " feel what it means to me is that the lift / pull is more centered ? The difference is most clear to me when looping the kite.
I'm finding the arcs redirect a lot faster than the Pulse.
I own a 7m Pulse and like it because it has some of that same feel. The larger kites are the ones that the difference becomes more pronounced.
The parts of the canopy and direction of force between a C and bow look very different when shown as a picture.
Day 2 on the Syn yesterday. Winds from about 8 to 18 mph ??? I'm sure that I could get almost the same bottom end out of this kite as my 13m P3 but
the top at 18 I would have been as powered as I ever got on it. The Syn was just perking up and performing at 18. I liked it about then and know I
had a lot more range left !!!!
My VERY LIMITED experience says it should do the job of those 2 kites ???
