New Kid Introduction..

Hey everyone at PKF! My name is Evan. I am a mechanical engineering student at CSU Chico. I am an avid cyclist, outdoor enthusiast, and moreover a person who loves to have fun and is always up for new adventures.

What spiked my interest to this forum was a longing to ascend upwards into the sky. For years I have been fascinated by paragliding. Something about this simple and free form of flight has a euphoric quality about it. One day I will get my chance to experience it.. However, paragliding is super expensive and I will delay my pursuit a little longer.

Enter: Power kites. After seeing a few 'speed kiting' videos a few years back, I was hooked. I thought to myself, this would be a solid foundation towards a future paragliding endeavor! ATB kiting and Snow kiting Looks awesome.

And so it has begun... I am here at PKF and I am happy to see such a large and compassionate community of fliers!!! That sums up my little introduction, thanks for reading! Now off to read as many threads as I can.. ;)

Welcome to the forum and the sport.

There is a great bunch of guys semi-local to you. Mostly around the sac area. Your more than welcome to try one of my kites next time I'm out flying if you would like

I might even be persuaded to go to Chico if you buy me lunch at Hula's  I have been known to make the 2 hour drive just for the bbq

Hey there and welcome to the forum. There are definitely a lot of cool people on the PKF and plenty of advice to go around. If you find any good, wide open flat spots in Chico I can think of a half a dozen people that will come your way. Plus the BBQ sounds awesome...and rumor has it, you are buying. Right?

Anyway, good luck and hope to see you around.
